Used to be good, like every new owners they keep the false front for a while then back to its old ways and gradually go down hill. Becides them forgetting to put stuff in your bag you've actually ordered and paid for. The staff are very childish they only seem to employ young girls. Think I shall be avoiding this for quite some time till they sort themselves out. And sort your school children aged staff out, and their immature attitude.

Recently moved to Niffy and have tried the chips 3 separate times and they are not good, greasy, soggy and very dissatisfying. Countesthorpe deserves better. Think I’ll be nipping to south wiggi insted

Been up all night with my 8 yr old projectile vomiting twice plus the other end ! only thing he had for his dinner was a small cod and chips from here ! We didn’t have any, make your own minds up but he’s never sick so I can only put it down to one thing ! we won’t be using this fish & chip shop again .

A lovely piece of Cod cooked freshly to order, should have been fabulous, but miraculously slow, overcooked & the greasiest that I’ve ever attempted to eat. £9.70 with soggy chips & watery beans. Picked out the fish, binned the rest. I won’t be returning.

The worst fish and chips I have ever had bar none! Absolutely disgusting. How hard can it be to fry some fish and chips? Only thing that wasn’t rank was the beans! Congratulations on transferring from can to container without screwing it up!

Having switched to Countesthorpe a few years ago, we found it was generally good. It's a rarity we have fish and chips but we had a takeaway this week from there and the fish was flat as a pancake (Haddock) and the batter was extremely soggy. This was frustrating because although i was literally in and out in about 30 seconds as they quickly wrapped it all up, there was a nice battered fish in the display ready but for some reason we got the poorly battered ones and both of them were thin, soggy and generally a bit tasteless. I'm not sure if they switched suppliers of fish but the previous time we had Haddock from there the batter was minimal too but at least it was fairly crispy - this time it looked like it was literally shown the oil and dipped for about 20 seconds and that was it. The result was a soggy fish with hardly any batter. On top of that, me and the wife have had slightly "off" stomachs the last few days which can't be a coincidence. Oh, and one member of staff (the server was fine) was rude and seemed angry about something. We won't be returning.
