All three of my daughters have loved taking part in Shine’s Summer Schools. There is so much passion and energy from the teachers and the children get swept up in it. So amazing what they can achieve in a week, we have seen some fabulous shows.
My older daughter has been going to Shine for 2 years, including 2 summer schools, and it's been amazing for her confidence. She loves going every Saturday and the teachers have been brilliant during lockdown, starting almost immediately with zoom sessions. My younger daughter has joined in with the online sessions too and loved the summer school she attended last year. Can't rate the teachers highly enough!
I can honestly say that Alice and the team at Shine on Stage gave me my wonderful daughter back. After she had a tough year my daughter was not the little girl we knew and was quiet and moody, not normal for a 7year old! But after just one week with the Shine team at the summer school she was shining like the brightest star again. I did know the power of the theatre but didn't think it could work so quickly, that is all down to Alice and the team for being so welcoming. The West End tutors that come on board to help are phenomenal and teach the children so much in such a short space of time. I would recommend Shine on Stage to anyone that has any concerns about there child and confidence issues. The knock on effects of our daughter changing has been astounding it has effected the whole family and we will never be able to say thank you enough. It sounds over the top but it is true.
A wonderful establishment! My 2 daughters absolutely love Shine and so do we as parents. Alice and her team are the most encouraging, warm and energetic team you could ever meet and they have every child’s best interests at heart; whether it be the natural stand out superstar or the shy and timid type. They bring out the the very best in everyone and encourage each and every pupil to shine in what ever way works for them. I have nothing but the highest of praise for Shine!
What a fantastic 'school' this is - not like any other I have come across before. Shine on Stage is a place where young people can give anything in performing arts 'a go' - all within the warm supportive 'glow' that is the Shine on Stage team who really do care about our children. My daughter has been attending the Saturday school and summer school for several years now. Not only does she learn how to act, sing and dance - she also learns wider life lessons - teamwork, social skills, confidence in presenting and creativity. And she has a lovely bunch of friends there. FinallY - seeing the 'Shinies' perform their shows is always a parents' bonus - so professional. No doubt about it - my daughter's favourite 3 hours of her week. THANK YOU!
issies time at Shine was the best. She had practically no confidence when she started but Alice and the other teachers brought her out of her shell. The staff are all committed to the children and getting the best from them. It's not about being the best individual singer, dancer or actor but about working together as a team. If you're looking for somewhere to send your child where they'll feel safe & appreciated then Shine on Stage is perfect.
