We were in the city for a show at St georges hall. The 1914 is an easy 4 minute walk across the water fountain Square. Don't miss this experience. Great food, great restaurant and staff all in the Alhambra theatre.

What a great experience a real look back to a more refined time, sublime architecture and attentive staff with a very well cooked retro menu, takes me back to the 1970s, but not in a bad way. Will be back... Second visit and once again the food was superb, with a great choice of well crafted dishes, superbly cooked and served with flair.... Great experience.. Third visit to try the new summer menu. Great selection of dishes served by great staff in a beautiful location. Every time we come things get better and better. A must if your booking a show at the Alambera, a great start to a magical evening, too marks all at the 1914, keap up the good work.

We attended today for Mary Poppins and thought let's have some lunch. Theatre food I thought okay we can always get something else later. How wrong I was, we had 3 courses and it was some of the best food I have ever tasted. Every course was what I would expect from a celebrity restaurant and when the bill came I was shocked in how little it cost. I would love to see the 1914 website showcase the chefs face and name as their food is phenomenal.

My husband and I visited on a Saturday in November before a show. We arrived a little early and expected to have to wait, but no, we were promptly greeted and seated. We were also informed that the table was ours until the show started, which was a welcome addition we didn't know about previously. The whole team was wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The food was not only outstandingly presented but it tasted divine. Every mouthful was a delight. The price was phenomenal. We had 1 alcoholic drink and 1 soft drink, starters, mains, and 2 coffees all for Β£60! I have been coming to this theatre for many years. However, this was my first visit to 1914, and it will hopefully not be my last. I look forward to returning soon.

I was part of a party of 10 friends who booked for a meal before our visit to the theatre. Hadn’t been to this restaurant for years and WOW, they did us proud! The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The food was delicious and well presented, there was a great ambiance and to put the cherry on the cake, they were soooo helpful and accommodating about catering for one of our friend’s tricky allergies (nothing was too much trouble), something that many eateries do badly. Throughly recommended a pre theatre trip to this restaurant.

This restaurant is OK. The food isn't terrible but it's not amazing. You have to remember that it isn't open all the time only when there are showings on, so maybe that's the reason. It's a nice base to have some food and drinks before a showing and the staff are attentive. So long as you go there knowing that the food is mediocre you won't be disappointed. They have a nice selection and the portions are on the larger side especially for the price. I want to be more positive about it but the starters definitely let the meal down, the mains were better and the desserts were on par with the mains.

Excellent value for money and the service was really good. Friendly and welcoming staff. The view outside of the restaurant is very nice too. The food was excellent, and we would go again with no hesitation.

A great start to the evening at the Alhambra. Just sit and relax before the show and enjoy an excellent 3 course meal with a bottle of good wine at a reasonable price and panoramic views over City Park. Also a friendly welcome and good service ensuring you finish the meal in time for the start of the show. Highly recommended.
