What an absolute find this place is. Having lived in India, I find it tricky to find authentic food that makes me feel like I’m back in Mumbai. This place achieves it with a simple but very varied menu, a good wine list along with friendly but not too intense service. Will definitely return to try more of there menu

The decor is nice. The service is nicer! The food was very tasty! I came on a Monday evening and selected 2 courses. After ordering I noticed that you could order a starter, mains, rice or naan, followed by coffee/tea for £14.50. It looks like the offer is drawing in the diners as the front and rear parking spaces were full by the time I left. I was also impressed that the bill showed that my order had qualified for the Monday deal and was charged accordingly, without asking. Tasty food, will be back! Returned again here cutting a journey up. The food was brilliant again and this time.

First time visiting tamarind after seeing a review in the paper about the restaurant winning an award. Took the missus last night and both of us agreed that this was the best lamb bhuna we've ever had. Food was amazing. Staff were amazing and the place was buzzing with a great atmosphere. It was well worth the 20 min drive from coventry. Tamarind will 100% be our go to from now on.

Tamarind gave us a warm welcome making us feel well at home. We were shown to our table and offered drinks while we read the menu. We noticed straight away some traditional dishes that you don't find in every restaurant. We just had to try the Amritsari Fish Pakoras and the Indian Train Cabin chicken. We weren't disappointed. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The level of cooking was excellent too. Can definitely recommend Tamarind. We'll be back.

I heard really good things about this restaurant from 2 friends who live in Balsall Common so I was looking forward to going there. I ordered their online takeaway menu but it didn't check out so I hadn't paid. When I got there I told the manager this & showed my phone. They fobbed me off and were very off hand saying it might be my phone but entered my order. While paying I saw an offer prominently displayed at the cash registerfor a deal on Mondays & Tuesdays. I asked if it applied to takeaways but I was very rudely told it wasn't and it said that on the website that it was for dine in only. I said that the ad didn't specify that it was dine in only. This seemed strange to me as takeaways are usually cheaper than dine in meals. I asked for a glass of water while I waited which was supplied. I was ordered to sit down and wait. But I went outside, when I came back in I was again commanded to sit down "love" the tone wasn't pleasant. I said my name is not love. I was utterly shocked at their attitude towards me. There was no goodwill shown due to the website not working, my wait etc. The encounter ended with the manager asking me if I had been there before I said no but I had heard good things about the restaurant and hoped to be a repeat customer but said that the customer service was really bad. This interaction ended with the manager telling me to "get lost, get out & don't come back" I was shocked at how I was spoken to and how the interaction ended as well as the fact it was done in front of other guests. This wasn't at all what I was expecting. It's a shame as I was hoping to be a regular customer. I could not understand their attitude I wondered if I was a woman & not smartly dressed? Who knows perhaps the manager was having a bad day. Never experienced anything like it!!

Lovely meal at Cafe Tamarinds tonight. We took advantage of the deal - starter, main and coffee for £12.90. Kebabs and bombay biryani were delicious. Cobra beer on tap too. Will be coming again!
