   We came here for dinner twice. The place is clean and nice, but both times we had issues with the bottled water. The first visit, we ordered still water (no tap water) and were served an opened bottle that clearly had green algae inside — definitely not fresh or sealed. When we asked for a new one, the waitress said they only had small bottles. We returned today, and again they brought an already opened bottle. Paying £4.95 for tap water presented as bottled water is not fair, even if the food and atmosphere are good..

   Table of 12 for our family including my son's wife mother and father who had traveled over from Arizona. What a night ! Great start as the starters (I had the figs which were absolutely delicious) were so fabulous. 5 of us had Dover sole - so yummy followed by several postings. Not to much to drink but the whole bill came to £660 - £55 a head including a 10 tip. What a result. Definitely going back again.

   Eaten here on 4 or so previous occasions and had a great experience both with the food and service. Tonight took the edge off a little, while the starters were great one main course “Authentically risotto with the woodsy, mushrooms, asparagus” also contained chicken. While we didn’t explicitly ask if it was vegetarian there was no mention it wasn’t. The replacement came and when presented we were informed that they used chicken stock to make it, OK not ideal and at this point our mistake was not to ask for something different. This replacement dish also had pieces of chicken in it. So if you are vegetarian or vegan please ask about every dish as the menu does not give any information on base ingredients. Otherwise a very pleasant evening and all the other food was very good.

   I was tonight at La Stalla with my fiancé to celebrate our engagement. It was the best evening ever thanks to La Stalla. The food was extremely delicious. Also, the service was excellent. Thank you Giovanni and Ollga for making this evening so special for us. Definitely the best italian restaurant in the UK.

   I'm hesitant between 3 and 2 stars. Good points: 1. Design. I really liked the shades of green and grey, with pink and rose. Looks good on photos with wine in pretty glasses. 2. There were 5 people serving, 1 guy kind of in command and 4 waitresses seemed to be in training, at least some of them. But I appreciate how well it all was organised and under rigorous control. Also one of the waitresses didn't know where the side belonged, and just silently dumped it on the wrong side of the table. Not so good points: 1.Overpriced, no doubt. It is seriously unforgivably overpriced. 2. The food was just mediocre for us, all my companions said they didn't enjoy their meals. 3. I really, really don't to see flies sitting on those beautiful design features (hmmm...) and attacking our plates. There wasn't one, but a few of them. See photos.

   Great evening with wonderful food and attentive service. Good sized portions (the fillet steak is highly recommend) from a real traditional Italian menu. Our meal, without any skimping and generous drinks, including tip worked out at £50 per head, which is realistic for a good meal these days. Truly recommended, but mind you don't miss the turn in, it is very unprepossessing.
