   My daughter and her father had some sides dishes chicken bites /squid/Brie and sadly been sick tonight only a couple hours after eating Wednesday 10/12/25 they have try to pass it off as a virus but the baby and every other close family member that lives closely to them are fine no bug otherwise we would or some of us would of come down with it after been sick are absolutely fine this morning the next day so wasn’t a 24 hour bug but agree you can’t prove unless stomach contents tested so warrants a bad review and now won’t go there again

   Food took a little while to come out considering the pub was quiet but the serving staff were extremely helpful. We go for a meal every so often and will continue to do so.

   Went out for my brothers birthday and I now know why himself and his misses call this their favourite pub. The staff were super friendly , the food was high quality ( I had the buttermilk chicken , Cajun chicken pasta followed by an authentic homemade, apple crumble) and this has excited to me try the other delights this pub offers. Top service from Louise at the front of house and the bar man Ash. Highly recommended to all !!

   Visited here a couple of weeks ago for my nans birthday and had a lovely meal. We were a part size of 8 and the service was fantastic. The food tasted fresh and everything was cooked perfect. Totally recommend eating here for traditional pub meals. I have a gluten allergy and was well catered for and plenty of meals to choose from.

   The food is lovely here.. and the 4 starts are solely for the food.. have knocked a star down as we pre booked to come.. when we got there we was shoved on the smallest table near the back door.. not very romantic for valentines.. we felt like we was forgotten about abit there as we had to ask for knives and forks which every table around us had… some people just walked in and got given better tables than us which we was a bit miffed about.. a part from that tho it is a nice pub and lovely area surrounding it.

   We went on a Tuesday lunchtime and they had 2 for 1 on some main meals. The food was delicious and came piping hot. We sat by the log burner and we were toasty warm. The service was excellent and prompt for a table of 8. Good sized portions all appeared to be freshly cooked. Definitely will return.

   We have visited the red lion on several occasions, the food is always spot on. This time was no exception. The young lady behind the bar, was super polite and even though she was on her own, nothing was too much trouble, as we were celebrating a birthday for our daughter, she helped with lighters for candles, and opening the door so the children could go to play outside. She was always very lovely. The play area outside is great for children, and in the warmer weather sitting under the canopy while they play is great.
