Very disappointed with our meal here and attitude of the staff , we arrived for our 5.30 booking for 3 to find shutters down , we waited in the cold for them to open at 5.40 and be greeted with 'You will have to leave by 7.20 as were incredibly busy tonight ', were lead to our table and asked if we wanted drinks , I said to the waitress who was miserable that as she had said there wasn't much time we should order food straight away which she did , food arrived which wasn't very good and to be honest I've had better from a takeaway, she never asked if the food was ok or offered us more drinks , the chicken dishes were not breast meat and awful, we wasted alot . I asked for the dessert menu to which said 'You want desserts ' ? Were very busy and you will be waiting ages ! , we had deserts whinch were the best bit of the evening ,I then asked for coffee only to be told 'We dont do coffees'and didn't offer anything else . Then the bill came and she announced 'I haven't put the tip on ' and just I was about to use my card she put 10 pound tip on the card ! , over the years we have used this restaurant alot and always been pleased but I dont know what has happened to the place, I will never go back that's for sure .

For over forty years this restaurant has been a favourite in the Welsh capital. Whilst the location has moved in the recent years, the food has always remained as good as it’s always been. Showcasing the finest Cantonese food in Cardiff. So this Sunday evening I took a good friend along to indulge and enjoy. For starters we had the veggie spring rolls, chicken and sweetcorn soup along with the scallops in deep fried batter. Prawn crackers are mandatory as anyone will tell you. They're always nice and fresh. Mineral water and soft drinks, no alcohol this evening. The fantastic Yung Chow fried rice always satisfies and tastes amazing. It had pork, chicken, prawn and veggies. When you had a touch of soy sauce, the taste is divine. Roast duck with ginger and spring onions and traditional roast duck were the mains ordered this evening. The duck was flavoursome, tender, crisp skin, sweet sauce hit the spot. The ginger and spring onion dish was also very tasty. Staff are always courteous, engaging and uber efficient. We enjoyed the rice so much, we ordered another portion. No service charge is added to the bill, so we tipped generously. Highly recommend.

To be honest, I have had better chinese food elsewhere. The atmosphere was a little loud; when everyone was talking, it echoes, making it hard to hear. I won't rule out giving this place another visit; hopefully, I will have a better experience.

The Riverside Cantonese has to be the best Chinese Restaurant in Cardiff. The food is consistently good. The menu offers something for everyone and there's a good selection of lagers and wine. The staff are very efficient and also friendly. The Owner is also very pleasant.

We went for a meal for two, we were disappointed that they didn’t do dim sum anymore but we ordered Cantonese roast chicken, Monk fish in ginger and garlic, Choi Sum in garlic and oyster sauce, crispy scallops, and Yangzhou rice. Everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We will be coming back to try the other dishes.

As soon as my friend and I walked through the door we received a warm welcome. Service and food was excellent. We felt thoroughly spoilt throughout our stay and the food was out of this world. We chose a meal for two and were not disappointed. Food was plentiful and excellent value for money. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you to the staff for a memorable evening

Modern interior, this restaurant moved from the its original established Tudor Street location to Leckwith in what used to be the Ninian Park public house. A la Carte menu only, food is consistently good, occasional slip up in service. Open Wed-Sun, home delivery also available.

30/10/22. Booked a table in advance (busy). Car park off the road around the back. Walk around the building to the front door. Wait to be shown to a table. Got given a well layed out menu showing a varied selection dishes & set meals. Assorted drinks menu on the back. Table service all night. Clean inviting dining areas for intimate & large groups. Staff are lovely & attentive. Nice atmosphere didn't feel rushed. Not cheap. The food is delicious, you pay for the quality they serve. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
