My kids woke me up (again) asking for a miso burger. We all went to The One O'clock Gate for dinner and it was (as always) amazing. The boys had the miso burger, (one gluten free, the other standard). I was a salt and pepper chicken burger and my wife had a trio of sides. The sides are as good as the mains. For me the onion rings, panko cauliflower and cucumber salad which were all ace. For dessert the boys had sorbet and I had the best tiramisu outside of Italy. All served with a nice selection of drinks and cocktails/mocktail in a relaxed atmosphere with lovely staff. Do yourselves a favour and head to The One O'clock Gate. You wont regret it.

Booked for an early tea as later slots were all booked up. Essentially the menu is burgers/chicken . I'd heard very good things about this place so I was excited to see for myself. The main meals are all around the £18 to £20 mark but they also do starters. The waiter was very pleasant and explained the menu clearly. We went on a Thursday and he told us about their offer of first drink free on Wednesdays & Thursdays! When the burger arrived it was absolutely excellent. I had the Kimchi burger and it was cooked perfectly. The flavours were great and even the fries were cooked well. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning soon.

Originally a takeaway concept born during the Covid lockdown, One O’Clock Gate has evolved into a full restaurant since April 2022. It’s located next to a private members’ club and has plenty of parking, with the distinctive One O’Clock Gate building just behind. The interior is surprisingly spacious, with a mix of greenery, black sound-absorbing ceilings, and a scattering of fairy lights giving it a casual, modern feel. The light beechwood tables divide the space into two main dining areas: one with green banquette seating, and another by the windows where the banquettes lose their backrests. Unfortunately, the chairs are wooden with only thin padding, making them rather uncomfortable for a longer meal. Background jazz and lounge music add a relaxed but slightly subdued atmosphere. The menu focuses exclusively on burgers—beef, chicken, or plant-based—served with a choice of chips or slaw. The signature dish is the Korean Chicken Cruncher, but the menu also includes options like the Chimichurri Burger which was what I choose and was good(7oz dry-aged Welsh beef with Thai-style chimichurri, smoked cheese, crispy shallots, lettuce, tomato, and Kewpie mayo). Sides are listed separately, and prices for extras like chips are reasonable. Drinks are given equal attention, with one page of wines and another of cocktails. The bar leans into an Asian–Japanese fusion theme, offering highballs (2 for £12) and cocktails priced between £8.50 and £10.50. Service was friendly but slow—particularly for the cocktails. The Shiro Negroni was disappointing: lemony, unbalanced, and lacking depth. The food was mixed. The Korean chicken was heavily battered with an overly sweet sauce, masking the flavour of the chicken. The sesame element was fine but didn’t redeem the overall dish. Fries were undercooked and pale, while the slaw had pleasant Asian-inspired notes but looked a lot like a supermarket salad mix. Price point: pricey as one burger with slaw , cocktail and fries was £32! Overall, One O’Clock Gate has an appealing concept and atmosphere, but execution falls short. The menu is creative, and the setting is comfortable enough for casual dining, but both food and drink could use more refinement to live up to their promise.

Fantastic as always, the miso burger is 5/5 and the beer battered onion rings are some of the tastiest I’ve ever had. Cucumber salad was Korean style cut and was a lovely papa cleanser between burger bites!

Wow the food is amazing! So first off, I can’t wait to go back, the food and menu were excellent and great value for money. The atmosphere is relaxed as are the team, they gave plenty of time to order and were attentive during the meal. My wife and I were there with 2 other family members, who are regulars here. We had been told about One O’clock Gate by several people but used this as an excuse to go and meet up. The restaurant is apart of the Dina’s golf club space, which makes parking a nightmare but worth the hassle. We were greater and seated and the restaurant was very clean, with only a few other tables busy, it was lunchtime and I believe they are very busy in the evenings. So the food, what do I say but, “please sir can I have some more” I don’t mean that in a negative as it’s almost 75 hours after we ate and I am still stuffed. I want to go again, tonight, tomorrow, next week I don’t care when, I want more. My wife and I shared a burger, which they offered to split for us, they served the sauce and mayo separate for us, so I could have it, even if my wife didn’t. We also had 2 other dishes, the teriyaki chicken which was finger licking amazing, 3 pieces and 3 was enough. The 3rd dish was battered Cauliflower with a honey sauce which I could eat until the day I die from a heart attack. Also ordered by the other couple was the braised Beef cheek dish and Korean fries. They also had the chicken. Even though we where offered dessert and more drinks, they missed a trick by not offering more dishes during the meal, like true tapas eating, I think we would have ordered another cauliflower, what am I saying we definitely would have. Overall great experience, just would have liked a little more service and the atmosphere would naturally be improved by more people. They cater for groups as well as singles, lots of space and lots of tables. Arrive early though so you can park without running late and stressed. Food glorious food!

Lovely place and fabulous staff. The menu is quite small but oh wow the food was gorgeous. Shared the Korean Chicken, satay noodles, Mac and cheese, prawns and fries. It was all lovely. Reasonable prices too.

My first visit and won’t be my last. Visited for lunch today. Our waiter (tall, slim young man with glasses) was really pleasant, helpful and provided good insight into menu choices prior to our ordering. Food was delicious and good portion. Great that they provided takeaway box for leftovers. Stylish venue with a good vibe, delicious food & great service. I highly recommend.
