   The customer service was excellent! I was notified 20mins before by the kind lady about my delivery order being slightly late but still confirmed that the order was going to be fresh and hot when it arrived and it did! The food was hearty and comforting, would definitely order more :]

   Have used this Chinese for a long while with no complaint but no more, For the second time now in the last few months the waiting time for food has been ridiculous at almost 2 hours and when it's arrived it's been well below par, either greasy, overcooked and rock hard but last nights was lukewarm. Not risking getting food poisoning because the staff at this place cannot pull their finger out and put their customers over profit like they used to. Someone else can have my custom instead

   We used to be regulars at Golden Star for a few years. From the time we called & spoke to the lovely, cheerful lady to when we had eaten food, everything about them was fantastic, especially the portion sizes. In the past few months (around May/Jun 2023), it appears to have changed hands and the difference is glaringly obvious. We've not ordered just the once & thrown the towel in; we've given them a shot roughly 4-5 times & decided it is no longer our chosen Chinese takeaway choice, sadly. The first few orders contained more MSG in my dish than I'd ever had in all previous dishes combined, but there has also been a HUGE change in portion size. The mixed meat black bean used to come in a large container and now it is reduced to small (new owners initially started using the large ones & then changed). I understand new owners have new challenges when regulars call & the menu & staff differ. I'm always open to accommodating this, but I can't see me ordering here again & I'm sure customers will find Golden Star is for them. Sadly, it isn't for us anymore.

   Abysmal ordered at 7.30pm told an hour delivery, hadn't arrived by 9pm, phoned to ask about it, they said the driver was still there, so cancelled it won't order from there again

   Always delucious food at a price. Very nice lady at the shopfront. You can order food by telephone and have it deliver for a small fee but we alway go there, order and pick it up because the waiting time is just a few minutes.

   I cannot recommend this wonderful establishment enough. The price is reasonable for portion size, the food is absolutely delicious and always arrives within a short space of time piping hot and well packaged. Staff are always really lovely, polite and friendly. Fantastic place to eat
