I loved the spicy rib hotspot ; it was cooked perfectly. The service was quick without feeling rushed, and the overall value for money was good.
I ordered seafood and preserved eggs congee, and received boiled rice in water with some seafood sticks and a few pieces of preserved eggs. The worst and the most expensive (£10.80) congee I’ve ever had. Congee is one of my favourite Chinese dishes and I know how it should look like and taste. I’ve only ordered one dish, so I can’t comment about other dishes. It was my first and possibly last time at this restaurant. Would not recommend!
Honestly, I don’t understand why the rating is only 3.6, the food is great! It’s an authentic Chinese restaurant with a wide variety of dishes from different regions of China. The only downside I found was that the food was too salty. Please consider reducing the salt and avoiding MSG, your food is already delicious! It was just a bit too salty to be healthy. The food quality is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous.
Good service but food isn’t worth the price at all. There are way better and cheaper places around which offer more edible food.
The chicken in batter was more tough to bite through. I have had this dish from many places and they make it different to this one. It is almost like fried chicken as you can see in picture the batter is darker. The sauce is more liquid than others. Good thing is it is good to try something different for a change.
We ordered the belly pork with preserved vegetables and we found a lot of hair/fur on the pork skin. We reflected to the owner and she tried to pursue us that it’s normal (which is not).
Very disappointed with some of my orders as I ordered crispy pork with noodles and it turns out to be char siu pork with noodles. Certainly there is a very clear distinction between crispy pork and char siu pork. The roast duck was not cleaned properly before roasting as I can smell and taste the distinct foul odour of a poorly cleaned duck. Very disgraceful. They don't accept credit card either.
