Friendly and fast for emergency dinner :) hearty portion and pleasant comfort food. House special fried noodle comes with large pieces of beef, pork, king prawn, and some veggie. Tender and flavorful.
Not happy woth the service we received this evening me and my partner have been ordering from lucky chef going on 10/15 now and today has ruined it for us. we ordered food at 6pm was told 30mins to a hr delivery it dod not arive intill 20 past 8 after phoning them before hand to find out where it was after about an hr they said they was waiting for a driver which I understand it's a Saturday night but you should have more on for busy days. After food arrived was 36.89 and the driver said I had no change so I gave him 40 for the order after we opened and plated up the food it was stone cold and row batter and chicken on my kids chicken ball tray meals. We then called the shop to tell them this as we was not happy they said our driver are required to carry change all the time so we got stitched up by a dodgy driver there they said sorry we was busy tonight so that's why your food is cold that not am acceptable awanser then said next time you can have 20% off needless to say we will not be ordering from there again
It is a heavy heart, I am writing this, having been an advocate for this takeaway for best chineese food in Cardiff for a long period of time. Ordered standard bits, rice, chips, sauce, and sweet and sour balls. The chicken balls had raw batter inside that was still wet, and all I can describe as raw. They had no crunch and were saturated with oil, which is never nice. It felt rushed, although we were told it would be 45 mins, but it came in 10 mins on a Tuesday night. The rice was the main defining difference. I have never had fried rice that was this sticky with starch. It was like the wrong rice was used, or the rice was not washed properly, and this was the same for the basic boiled rice my partner ordered. We didn't really eat or finish anything that night, but I had to speak with the takeaway regarding the issue. I was told initially to bring it back for a refund, although I was very much in the frame of an exchange that would be fine. I was advised on the phone that would be fine and to pop over. I had the pretty much non eaten chineese from the night before to take over. I explained that when I got there, I had been coming to this facility for 7 years and only had 1 problem before with a missing item that was resolved immediately. I was then told that I was not able to get an exchange as their food didn't suit my taste and insisted on issuing a refund. I asked if it was possible for an exchange, and I was told no, which I was quite shocked about. Dont think I have been technically banned from a Chinese takeaway before until now. I felt compelled to share this as we know things can go wrong in life, and its about how you go about fixing them. I had to travel even though my items were delivered to be told that it's really my fault I don't like the food which wasn't appreciated. I loved that place and changed so many people's views to go here and not other establishments, but this was a sad goodbye with a very poor customer experience.
Excellent food, money's worth only thing is no salt added at all but otherwise good.
Ordered sweet and sour chicken (Cantonese style) with noodles and a portion of sticky beef. Gorgeous food which was nice and fresh. The portion sizes were fab. The delivery arrived 20 minutes earlier than expected. Will definitely order again!

Absolutely fantastic, so food that I felt compelled to leave a review! This was surprisingly the best Chinese delivery I've had in Cardiff in years, especially the crispy shredded beef and prawn chow mein. Really good value, fed four with loads left over for 40quid.
