   Usually like this place but sadly this time the chips were minging. Grey bits on them. Only managed to eat a few that didn't have grey bits on them and sadly had to throw the rest away. £6.40 down the drain, quite gutted as Golden Star is useually good.

   As a regular customer, never had a problem, and knew with the young lad, serving, there wouldn't be a problem. Sadly on Friday 29.11.24, was completely different with service. Older lady served. We waited approx 45 min for plain chowmein, salt and pepper chips, and curry. We accept it was busy, and pressure for staff to prep and cook food safely. But to see customers arrive after us paying/placing large orders, after us, and leaving with their food before us, was unfair. The end result at almost 7.50pm we finally got our takeaway, after a woman came in with son, asking for chips, poppadom, curry and saveloy, and served immediately with their food. After they left, we were only ones there. Still waiting. I felt light headed and physically sick, due to being so hungry and thirsty. If lady serving again. I will not be getting a takeaway again from golden star.

   Went in for first time for a takeaway. Service was cold and abrupt. My order was ready in 10 minutes. Only live 10 minute drive away. Got home it was cold. Nothing had warmth at all. The house special rice was wet and stodgy. The house curry was worse I’ve ever had, bland and watery. Meat was awful. I will never eat from there again

   First time here. Only hadfish , chips and gravy. All cooked fresh while I waited....in all fairness it was awesome. Will have a Chinese takeaway from there next.

   Read some of these reviews and I’m scratching my head. I use this place at least once a month. Never had a bad meal. Always freshly cooked, always hot, always get the order right. Always tasty. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

   Chips were reheated and not good. Imagine Chinese chips reheated. Curry sauce had a half inch of grease on the top. Savloy was good (hard to mess up a savloy). Overall not good.
