   Was looking forward to sitting & enjoying a coffee & cake with my daughter. The area we sat in was blocked off with chairs within seconds of us sitting down. The girl then started racing around the empty tables lifting every chair & slamming it upside down on the table. Clattering around very loudly. It was 3pm. 3 hours before closing! I asked her to stop as we couldn’t even hear ourselves talk. We came to relax. There were 2 tables occupied. Why not just wait til it’s empty. There was plenty of time. I asked politely but the girl just stared at me & walked away. no reply no apology nothing. Apart from adding more chairs to block us in more as she left. Disappointed

   I prefer independent coffee shops to chains but Costa is generally okay. The staff are pleasant enough. Coffee is reasonable quality.

   Visited Costa Coffee Halifax branch. The staff was friendly and generous. Enjoyed the creamy latte. Review edited (02/07): Living in Halifax comes with its perks where I can present myself to the opportunity of visiting the Costa Halifax branch quite often. I love their coffee and have quite honestly tried all the varieties, even the seasonal populars. I have this habit of clicking photos of well presented coffee cups( more so to do with aesthetics) and here's some of the many photos that have been living and breathing in my phone gallery.

   I just wanted to give a huge shoutout to Tristan and Liam at Halifax Costa — absolute stars! From the moment I walked in, they were welcoming, professional, and genuinely friendly. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s not often you come across such genuine service. Their energy and customer care really made my visit a great experience. Keep it up, guys. you’re a credit to the Costa team! Will definitely come again!

   Revised review 08/02/2025 came in on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Staff far more efficient than our previous experience and very friendly. Much better experience than a few years ago. Will definitely return

   The whole idea of a coffee shop is to get my coffee and go. Staff employees were casually talking amongst each other taking their time with taking orders and no apology for the long wait. HURRY UP!!!!

   Really great Hot chocolates and even better when you ask for them extra hot, and they do it. As that's the only way Hot Choc should be served. Staff are always so friendly and polite

   A very disappointing experience. Drinks were less than lukewarm & the staff were very surly & basically couldn't care less. Won't return to the Halifax branch. Total opposite of Huddersfield where nothing was too much trouble

   My 1st ever shopping visit to Halifax & this Costa store .Its quite deceiving from the outside with good size seating areas on 2 different levels inside. I found the Costa staff on duty to be very pleasant.I would of normally given 5* but on this visit the atmosphere was very noisy, mainly due to unruly young kids running about & shouting .Parents doing nothing to control or quieten them down.The sooner the brats are back @school the better,then I maybe able to enjoy my coffee once again !
