I wasn’t even going to leave a review, but the manger’s attitude on the phone has prompted me too, waited 45 minutes for this Burnt Panini to be delivered and the wrong flavoured milkshake,
I have to say, this place left an impression on me upon visiting... and not in a positive way. Food is average at the very best. Pricey for what you get (in my personal opinion, so could be down to personal taste, granted). My drink was not made to a standard I’d want to pay for. Atmosphere is not the nicest, not very feel-good. It is rather dull in the cafe itself, even with modest-sized windows up front. Location is tucked away, so is somewhat hard to find if one is not familiar with the area. The only way to find it is usually the strong smell of bacon in the street upon passing by (from the extractor fan, at my best guess), and the even stronger smell of the owner (I assume) smoking outside when the place is quiet. The staff seem to present to customers as approachable and friendly, but upon closer observation, seem to be the antithesis of this entirely which is disappointing as I usually enjoy banter with the locals. Overall, the feel of this establishment leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth, and I would not recommend this cafe to anybody in the area. Perhaps with improvement it could be a brilliant place. Will try again in the future.
Traditional English Breakfast Delicious breakfast and plenty of it. I changed toast/bread for fried bread no Hassel. Girlfriends eggs a little snotty but they were happy to cook longer, 5* other wise. Highly recommended
The cup of tea wasn't the best. Sandwiches were ok The place was a bit cold, so I sat with my coat on
We Pop in here every now and again for a snack and a cuppa!! But their Victoria sponge is to die for and if you have a cuppa with it. They do an offer. Lovely people
x2 full English came to around £25. Tepid food at best, not enough to justify the price and obvious cheap ingredients. Sorry about this but was a disappointment and very cold in there
I loved this place. Went there with my baby and a few friends. They were so accommodating. Had run out of vegilgie sausages but the owner happily ran out and got some. Food was all cooked fresh and had some really nice vegan options too.
Friendly service, nice breakfast, only thing not getting it to 5 star was has brown and sausage was just a little over done. But other than that all good.
Highly rate the Hideaway Cafe! Ordered two breakfasts one of which was gluten free and two lunches, again one was gluten free. Everything was labelled clearly so there was no cross contamination. Considering we live 20-30 minutes away every thing arrived warm and in excellent time! The gentleman that delivered was very considerate, kind and friendly at the door and ensured social distancing applied and the person behind the phone taking my order was very kind and polite also. The food was lovely and very fresh! Considering we hadn’t been to a cafe for months it brought back the smell taste and experience to our home :) it was thoroughly enjoyed!!! Thank you!
