   Lovely and helpful staff, but food was a massive letdown. £11 chicken burger was a bun with lettuce, 2 slices of tomato, splash of bbq sauce and 3 dry chicken goujons obviously from Iceland or other supermarket. I have asked for a slice of cheese- they charge £2 for it, which I never got but of course they’ve tried to charge me. Very disappointing, could be a lovely place, we won’t be returning.

   Hidden gem! We were looking to have a quick coffee so googled what was closest and found this place randomly. The setting is really cute, but even better - the food and drinks! They have a vegan menu and cakes, plus yummy coffee. I couldn’t believe we had accidentally found such a great place. We ended up having brunch, and would absolutely return again if we are in the area. The service was very attentive, it was lovely sitting outside and watching the canal boats, and they have vegan (and non vegan obviously) food. 5/5

   I came for Katie O's gorgeous mural and stopped for a lovely cuppa, which i enjoyed in their outdoor dining area. The food looked absolutely delicious, and i bet it tasted amazing too, given how busy the place was, so early in the day. Everyone in there was happy and relaxed, and a lovely couple even offered to move so I could take a photo of the new mural. (Did I say the mural was gorgeous? It was gorgeous). The staff were very friendly and professional, and the prices looked very reasonable. When I get a bit more time, I'm definitely going to come back and sample the food!

   Was there on Father’s Day and what a breakfast treat we had! The traditional breakfast is absolutely must have and full on value for money! The food is so well presented that these guys are artists! We enjoyed our time here and special shout to Sharon who was very Kind, polite and proactive, even the other staff in general, one of the best customer services I’ve seen in a while! If you are visiting Coventry, put this place on your places to visit!

   The Playwrights is a lovely little cafe with brilliant views and plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the Coventry Canal Basin. It has great coffee, well cooked food, and excellent service from experienced waiting staff, who really seem to care. We were especially impressed by the vegan selection on the menu, and some of the little touches of detail, such as home made coleslaw, and a choice of tomatoes (roast or plumb). Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the bread used for toast.

   Nice place to visit, staff were really friendly and helpful. I would say overall the food was nice and our group enjoyed the meals. However, I would say the delay in food coming out was noticeable, some food came out separately and my meal specifically was of lower quality and a little cold. However, their extensive menu and good food coming out to other diners makes you want to return.

   Very good ambience. We ordered chocolate milk shake and chocolate muffin ( was good). We did not like the milkshake, it was very bad. Thinking to try main course next time. Very clean place and customer service was also good.
