I had a fantastic experience at The Earl of Stamford in Birstall, Leicester. The Kenyan Swahili lamb curry on the bone was absolutely awesome — rich, fragrant, and full of authentic flavour. As a Kenyan Punjabi, I can confidently say the food has all the right flavours, exactly like you’d find in Nairobi. It’s rare to taste something so genuinely authentic in a pub setting. The staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly, which made the experience even better. A special shout-out for serving Tusker beer — the first pub I’ve ever come across in the UK that stocks this hard-to-find Kenyan beer. That alone made my day. Shout out to the boss lady behind the bar. She is cool! Highly recommended for great food, great atmosphere, and a unique cultural touch you won’t find anywhere else.

We usually love dining in at this restaurant, but this was our first time ordering a home delivery and it was just as impressive! The food arrived quickly, was piping hot, and tasted absolutely amazing. They offer great vegetarian options, which we really appreciate, and everything was full of flavour as always. We had a few extra requirements for our order, so we called ahead, and the staff member we spoke to was extremely friendly and accommodating. The service here has never let us down, whether dining in or ordering at home. Highly recommend. Fantastic food, great service, and consistently high quality every time!

What a surprise, from the outside looks like any other pub, but once inside the African paintings on the wall, you know your somewhere different... And, Wow when the food comes it's another level. Food was amazing. I love Leicester for it's food, but the Kenyan food was a freshing change from the vegetarian food you get on Belgrave Road. Absolutely loved it and will be back for more...

I have visited here several times. Most of their dishes are simply incredible! Perfect Indian curries made the Kenyan way.

I had a very strange experience. I went down, ask for a pint and when I leave to go to the beer garden, someone at the door ask something to me and after I said that I didn't understand that person said that I would leave because I wasn't secure there. While I was drinking my beer he and his friends didn't stop to looked at me.

Lovely friendly landlady and nice and clean pub, mainly a sports type bar so great for darts and pool, would like to see tea and coffee available for drivers and non drinkers, dog friendly if on lead and under control.

Good service. But badly let down by lack of food options - when I asked for a menu, their staff said they didn't serve food. Rudimentary selection of popular crisps and not the flavour I wanted.. Tip.. Don't ask for it prawn cocktail as they don't do them.. Apparently. Staff where courteous. Beer was as you would find in many places.. It was cold. On the plus side has a pool table and by the looks it would appear that they do live entertainment. Disabled toilet was clean. No proper baby changing facilities. Has WiFi and Sky.

It has a great amount of space and fantastic game tables (pool.....). It is also fairly cheap but no cards are accepted (only cash with no on site cash machine), poor selection of beers, and dirty toilets ruin the pub.
