   Would avoid these solicitors as they lack the basic concepts of timeliness and communication skills. Unfortunately I have to give at least one star to be able to get my point across, not that they even deserve that. Farah was dealing with one of the houses in our chain. By the time she came onboard the rest of the chain was ready to complete and was told it was first time buyers. As time progressed in the chain we were getting a lack of communications/updates, not just from ourselves but our estate agents and the rest of the chain. During the transaction (or lack of) then there were lengthy delays and key documents that should be raised as soon as possible not even being requested until 15 weeks into the transaction. It came to the point where the buyer and seller were exchanging contact details and ended up knocking on each other's doors to get answers the solicitors clearly couldn't obtain but they could verbally. As a result of these delays multiple parties in the chain including ourselves had to reapply for new mortgage offers as they were expiring even with extensions in place. As a result of all these delays the seller got fed up by the lack of any tangible updates / progress updates and when their own mortgage offer expired they pulled the plug on the entire chain. Contacted the solicitors directly and explained this entire situation to them and they clearly did nothing to help progress or give us any real assurances that anything was going to change the situation. If they had more competent staffing they could have completed the sale, but it turns out 26 weeks (mortgage offers only 6 months) and a first time buyer clearly isn't enough time for these solicitors, considering they couldn't even get anywhere close even within this timeframe doesn't fill me with much hope for any potential buyers in future.

   Barcan+Kirby acted for us, as executors for a family member, to sell a property and purchase another. Because the house was not registered with the land registry things were not straight forward. Kim and Abigail were excellent throughout the process. They were both very patient, explaining the process in layman’s terms enabling us to fully understand transactions as they progressed. They also chased up other parties when necessary to ensure progress in a timely manner. We therefore would have no doubts in recommending Kim and Abigail to anyone. Thank-you to both of you.

   I'm not one to usually leave reviews but i feel the service I received from Barcan + Kirby throught my sale and purchase deserves some recognition. Abi in particular, who handled my case was fantastic, she is knowledgeable, pro active and always happy to help. I never had to chase for updates as these were always provided regularly and she ensured that I was kept up to date with all developments. My sale was protracted and complicated at times but Abi ensured that things moved as quickly as possible and I believe I would still be waiting to move if it had not been for her determination to get the job done! I also want to mention Saffron who was a pleasure to deal with when Abi was not around and who is very also very helpful. Thank you Barcan + Kirby for making what can be a stressful time more pleasurable thanks to your staff
