We had the best morning having breakfast with santa at the bear! Santa was fantastic with all, from the youngest child at 1yr to the eldest 14yr old. Santa had banter, great Christmas jokes and was more than happy to have plenty of photos. Letters to santa on the tables ready for the children to fill in and give to santa, he went through each individual letter with the children, A real personal experience. The food was delicious! Bet good at catering for allergies, coeliac included. Service was given with a smile. Atmosphere festive and definitely recommend!

We have recently moved into the area so decided to try it out. We had ribeye steak which was really nice. Service was excellent with polite staff. Definately be back.

Fab Xmas meal with friends, service was fab as usual, food was lovely, portion size was great. The Pre-Ordering option is fab. Itβs a great local for any time of the year.

Took my elderly Aunt for lunch yesterday. We had the saver lunch menu which is a fabulous deal. Β£9.99 for 2 courses or Β£11.99 for 3 courses. We opted for a starter and main each. We had grilled halloumi and pate starters and scampi and gammon steak for our mains. All the food was really good and the portion sizes were perfect. Lovely chunky chips too. Service was great and very friendly. I highly recommend and will be back for more and my aunt said she will be returning with other family. Thank you.

Seven of us went in today for a bit of lunch. We knew it might be busy but we took our chances. 20 to 30 minute wait for food was explained as we ordered. Not a problem. When the food came it was delicious. The service was spot on and we could tell that the staff were slightly stressed with it being so busy, but they delivered and made us very happy. Thank you so much The Bear.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The menu isn't big, however, everything we ordered was very tasty. Fish and chips tasted homemade, Sunday lunch was big and filling, fishcakes also tasted homemade, ice cream and sorbets are very good and generous servings. Server was very nice and helpful, pleasant family atmosphere and generally a good experience. The reason that it's a 4 and not 5 stars is because the cauliflower and cheese cost Β£4 and there were only 3 florets in there and the desserts cost Β£6.5 which is way too expensive (hence why we got scoops of ice cream instead). Also, I know its a pub, but it looked quite dingy inside. You could put some lights either over the tables or some candles on the tables.

We came today for a family get together, food was delicious and we received a super friendly service. We loved the macaroni cheese, the chicken burger and the steaks were cooked to perfection. For the quality of food I would say the prices are well matched. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and makes you feel very welcome.

We had an excellent family meal here today. All the staff were helpful and welcoming despite the pub being full and hosting a function. The food was really good and at a reasonable price. A lovely experience

On arrival, greeted by 2 lovely polite female staff members who served us MY wife daughter and I went and sat near the entrance which also has the TV there while we were in conversation a bloke from behind the bar wearing a England top and hat came over and just turned the TV up ,which drowned out our conversation there was no would you mind or anything just pure ignorance from him, so we got up and moved table which he saw not even a sorry just stared at me from behind the bar . We went there for a drink to see what place was like, so maybe go back and try the food , but far to say, we will not be going back . Female staff lovely can't complain about them .

Just had drinks here since itβs my local. Definitely improved since the revamp however prices are too much around Β£5 for a pint which means I probably wonβt come very often, also they said there would be live music after 7pm however there wasnβt any when we arrived at 7.20pm. On the good side itβs a nice atmosphere, dog friendly and the outdoor seating area is nice with heaters and the staff were nice. Overall itβs a nice place to go, just need to be willing to spend quite a lot.
