   Upon arriving, we were greeted with genuine hospitality—something that made the whole experience feel personal and special right from the start. My wife had the 8oz steak and I had the mixed grill, both meals were cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding—attentive without being overbearing, and the entire team seemed to genuinely care that we had a wonderful afternoon. Overall, The Mount Pleasant exceeded all our expectations. It was the perfect place to celebrate my wife’s milestone birthday, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Thank you to the team for making this day truly special.

   We waited over half hour for our breakfast although it wasn't busy. My order was incomplete (no black pudding), the toast was so dry it disintegrated when I tried to spread it with butter and the whole meal was not cold but was close! My wife had the gluten free option which also was near cold when it arrived and the bread which was certainly not toasted was rock hard. Delicious coffee, warm friendly staff and bad food.

   Friendly staff, clean pub & toilets. Ordered Thursday special offer, katsu chicken rice & salt & chilli chips for £8.99, food arrived quickly was hot tasty and a fair size portion, great to get a gravy boat included for dipping chips. Real ales were £4.35-£4.85 so not a bad price. Pub was busy but not too noisy, tv had sports on. Would return and recommend.

   Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t Recommend Ordered fish and chips along with bread and butter. What arrived were dry bread , chips that were clearly undercooked. I informed the staff, and within a minute they brought out another portion — but these were barely any better. There’s no way they had enough time to properly cook them in that short span, and they still came out underdone. No one checked on us afterward or asked if the food was okay. Overall, it felt rushed and careless. Definitely not worth the money or the wait.

   We sat at table 25 and we were served by Sarah and the chef was Justin.we had the steak pie with mash and peas and fish and chips.the meals tasted fantastic and the service was excellent made to feel very welcome and was a beautiful place to have a meal.the staff are a credit to your company and we will definitely be visiting again. highly recommend this fantastic place to go for a drink and a lovely meal.thank you to the staff for a lovely afternoon.

   So disappointing especially on mother's day. So bad that it made mother. Stepsister and my stepsisters two children actually cry. I understand that mother's Day is a high pressure day. And often certain things can slack. However the specific reason for going was for the salmon dish. Which was unavailable. Bless my mothers heart having just finished a 12 hour night shift at the hospital. Expecting a nice meal. The nachos were stale. The Sunday roast was dryer than the Sahara. The gravy looked like it had already been through a digestive system. Twice The two kids meals were cold and the onion bhajis looked and tasted like they were made by pirelli. So upsetting and so disappointing. Definitely will not return. Credits to the floor staff for doing their best.

   It is quite some time since I visited as the last time I did I was not happy with the service or the food. However I believe since I visited there has been a change of management/staff. When I visited last week I was impressed by the cleanliness and there were plenty of people having food - always a good sign in my opinion. Having placed an order I did not have to wait too long and the food was well served and hot. It was a huge improvement on my last visit and I would be very pleased to revisit again in the future.

   Slow service, our tickets sat at the bar for drinks for ages when we ordered on the app, when we got up to get them ourselves (didn't complain was just thirsty) we were met with attitude that it was busy.... not a customer in sight with 2 staff on the bar not in the middle of anything but a chat! Then food came out and almost the whole table's was stone cold, particularly the chips. One of our guests ordered a main and dessert and they never gave her the dessert, but it was too late at the point she noticed so she just left without it. To top it off, when we arrived we struggled to get a table, not because it was busy but because they had put hand drawn reserved signs on all the big tables, yet nobody ate on them all night between 5 to 11 30pm!... that's one way of deterring custom.

   Affordable price for Sunday dinner. Nice rump steak with good side dishes. The environment is good. We took a sofa table. The staff are nice. They cleaned the seats and table before we got the table.

   Most of the food on the menu they never had, No stake, No Jacket potato, No tikka, No salad, No cheese, No Cod, No Coleslaw, No Salad they were plenty more, i wanted the stake but I had to settle with the Quadzilla burger and I had some scampi, I think that it all was frozen then cooked as there was no taste,y partner had Chicken and mushroom pie that was still cold in the middle. we had to send it back. My boy had Southern fried chicken on a fajita style sizzling plate, which I think was frozen as they were no flavour and watery, my daughter had the children chicken nuggets and chip, she said they were fine, I don't think id recommend this place to nobody very disappointed. Update: Considering they asked for the opportunity to put things right and for me to contact them, which I did, I've still heard nothing back. Thanks for that Mount Pleasant.
