It's been 17 years since I've been to The Rainbow. I was pleasantly surprised. It's always been a nice village pub, but I was impressed by the selection of beers and the food. Good traditional pub food, good quality and not overly complicated. The Ploughman's for sharing was abundant, good quality, and a good price. It's been many years since I've been back in England and The Rainbow is an example of how British pubs used to be and how they still should be.

Character pub, great locals, open fires, choice of beers and events. Also it's nice to hear that Michelle ( owner) has taken over this pub as well as running the windmill in Coventry. Great lovely manager, and staff. The very best to all.

Decided to drop into this pub on a sunny Sunday afternoon with a friend and our children whilst out on a bike ride. From out outside front seemed nice a little and periodic Villiage pub. Inside was looking rather run down, very little atmosphere. Waited at the bar whilst the barmaid finished her cigarette out back. Ordered some drinks consisting of lemon and limes, orange juice and lemonade and a glass of water. We did ask for a tomato juice to which the response from the barmaid was "was is that?". Not sure I have ever been to a pub, bar or restaurant where the bar staff do not know what tomato juice is, needless to say they didn't have any of this mystical drink either. We decided to go and sit in the beer garden as there was a kids playground. Sadly this was as neglected and rundown as the inside. Rotton tables, a uses fire barrell and a tree with a very large broken branch dangling down right over the tables and children's play area, a big health and safety risk if you ask me. A quick call to the tree surgeon and a good tidy up is definitely required. However this won't solve the smell coming from the mountain of rubbish and bin bags that sit just a few feet away around the overspilling bins. All in all, I don't see myself returning to this place, which is such a shame considering the amount of potential a building like this has.

Very well kept beer, friendly staff. Above average pub food menu. Good atmosphere. There are several pubs closer to me but I prefer to walk an extra mile to this and call it my β€œlocal.”

Great food, we ordered a Kangaroo and Zebra Steak. Food well presented and prepared reasonably quickly. Both steaks served on a 'rock plate' giving you the option of continuing to cook the steak just the way you like it. Only downfall would be the building could do with a splash of paint in places but this wouldn't put us off from visiting again.
