   Went for a friends 60th birthday party. The food service was awful. 2 meals coming out at a time. For 20 people that was bad. Mine and another guests' meals were the worst we've ever been presented with. Absolutely no response from the young lady serving when she was told. I think the poor girl was completely out of her depth, total lack of customer service skills. If it hadn't been a special occasion for a friend I would have complained. I don't know how they could imagine that the meal was acceptable to serve. Luckily my table neighbour and I found it so bad that it was funny. What makes it worse is when the host complained in an email the following day it was dismissed as though it was our fault. British Hospitality at its best. Such a shame, it's a great pub and they serve draught Bass.

   Got a parking ticket. There is no clear sign to remind customer validate car reg. Staff didn’t remind either. I contacted the bar the other day of received the PCN, they promised to contact the landlord to cancel that PCN，but they didn’t do anything about it. The Civil enforcement keep sending me payment reminder. I have to appeal by myself showing them I was their customer on that day. Eventually, their final decision is rejecting my appeal but giving an option to pay £20 instead. I can it’s not only me have this experience. Their staff were not well trained on this.

   Never had a bad experience until recently. Ordered a specific breakfast with a drink, and got charged only for the breakfast. I’ve added a menu item which wasn’t added to the meal as requested. Been given a coffee but no sugar. The breakfast came and it was the wrong one. On top of that, found a hair in the black pudding. What happened to the place?

   I attended a wake of a lovely lady. Good sized carpark. The entrance most used was to the left of the carpark through the restaurant but can also use the bar door. Very good buffet and lots to drink with friendly staff.

   Attended a private function the back room, a nice time was had by all,the staff were friendly and we didn't have to Wait to be served even though it was very busy , there was a band on in the main bar sounding great ,a great place will return.

   I have given no stars and would strongly advise do not visit this establishment as the pub is freezing, if you still want to visit i would recommend dressing for the winter as warmer outside (January) the fire is barely on and even the female owners hubby wears a hoody, looking for a nice country pub i would suggest the horse & jockey

   Great venue. We hosted a wake here and they made it very easy. Very willing to help with catering for vegetarians and vegans. They also allowed us to bring in decorations to make it more personal. I would definitely recommend this place for anything from a Sunday lunch with your partner to a gathering of hundreds of guests. Great food and lovely people.
