   Ordered warm food due to cold weather and the owner had the door wide open and letting the cold in,Paid £10 for it and won’t be returning will be sticking to using my normal place for food

   Concept: I live in Newport from May 2019. If you are really hungry in the morning, the Coffee Shop is the best option for breakfast. You can find a range of omelettes and toasties and of course variations of the traditional English breakfast. Thus, for another one time, I decided to start the weekend with a filling and healthy breakfast. Timing of visit: Saturday 20/09/2025, 10:00-10:40. Order: Vegetarian breakfast and mocha coffee. Price: £11.00. Quality of food: 8* (really impressive). Quality of coffee: 7* (perfect). Method of payment: Debit card. Atmosphere: 5* (relaxing and ideal option for hot & sunny summer days). Staff: 4* (helpful but need to improve communication skills). While I was ordering the coffee, I was asked if I would like cream at the top. I said "No" since whipped cream is not healthy for people over 40 (my grandfather was a doctor). The staff found my order "weird" and served me the coffee including whipped cream (it's ok for one time but not to do this regularly).

   I've been eating at this place for over 35 years ( changed hands a couple of times in that time). It's convenient for me, as I travel to and from Newport regularly by bus. I've tried quite a few of the dinner options on the menu ( there is a varied choice), with the current owners and have enjoyed everything. The food is always served quickly and hot. My favourite is the home made chicken curry...absolutely delicious. Once I'd tried it, I've never ordered anything different.

   We met with some friends for breakfast. The cafe is spotlessly clean and well laid out. The food is cooked fresh and hot. The service was excellent. Where it looses points is, I was really cold. And although I can't eat with my coat on, I put it back on quickly. Despite being sat next to a really hot radiator. I would imagine it it much warmer later in the day. I do go here from time to time. And this is the 1st time I have felt so cold.

   Use to be a regular here but over the last year it has gone downhill sadly the owner has been rude to me on multiple occasions after getting my delivery order wrong he told me to bring it back to him and stated that if I don’t then no refund, the chips come super greasy and under cooked it was a total shambles, such a shame as in work we use to order here every Friday but we no use Lisa kitchen around the corner !!

   I fell across this place completely by accident and had an excellent lunch. It is directly across the way from the newly refurbished indoor market and it’s extensive food court, but if you want a proper meal at very good prices - this place would be hard to beat based on my experience today. Portions are substantial and the food came out quickly and piping hot. I will definitely come back and try breakfast some time.
