    Visited on a Friday evening. No steak, lamb , carbonara or chicken wings on the menu. Went for the beef bourginion which looked like dog food and pink in colour. Also so heavily over salted it was disgusting. It was replaced with the steak and ale pie which too was very unpleasant. Surely on the run up to Christmas a full menu should be available! I will not be returning

    Fantastic Sunday lunch in a proper country pub that’s finally been gutted and refurbed. Great range of beers. Really friendly staff. Well worth a visit to support a bunch people that are working bloody hard to keep this a great destination in a sadly dying industry.

    Hi there only a matter of time at the red lion Shirley. I have been a regular there for years. Great drinking pub. I know the last people that run it. Never been a doorman on it in its history. It was taking £8000 a weekend. Whit 5 staff when needed.the recent lease holders reckon they spent £300000 on it dream on. I spent 40 years in the pub refurbishment game . And another 40 years drinking in them if they spent £100000 they where robbed.50 regulars left it in 2 weeks and never set foot in it again. Hopefully some one that knows what they are doing will turn it back to a beer drinkers pub and make a lot of money. To much food in Shirley it a no brainier

    Visited here on 11th November. We had a lovely warm welcome, shown to our table by the lovely open fire. The service was really good, the food was brilliant and the whole atmosphere was so friendly. Never been here before but we will certainly be back again. Thank you to all the staff for making our visit very enjoyable. Forgot to say the cutlery was SOOO shiny and clean, which I always notice first!

    I'm a wedding photographer and shot a wedding reception here just before Christmas after the couple had got married at St Alpheage in Solihull. I've been to dozens of "proper" wedding venues around the Midlands and I would say this was just as good or even better than a few of them! The atmosphere was brilliant, the food was great and the staff really friendly. They had a band on the night and it was an epic party! I would really recommend anyone looking at not doing the "normal" to consider here. I had a great time!
