   I’ve visited this coffee shop a few times now, and unfortunately, I’ve had consistently negative experiences with one particular staff member — an older blonde lady. Each time, she’s been unnecessarily rude. She raises her voice at me to “scan it” when I’m holding a product, and most recently, while handing me my coffee, she bluntly said “we’re closing at 4,” even though it was only 3:30 — and I had no intention of staying. The tone and attitude are unwelcoming, and it’s disappointing to be treated like this as a paying customer. I really enjoy the coffee here, but experiences like this make it hard to return.

   They charge for everything!! Even hot water and disposable cutlery!! It used to be good atmosphere but now it’s not. I got the falafel and it was too cold as if it came out of the freezer. Some staff were very very rude which made me stop going despite using the building every day. They made me prefer walking outside the building to just get coffee or lunch. The food used to be way better than now.

   The food is good, but you have to get there early to grab it. Salads and sandwiches are different from what you find in other places around University, with interesting combinations. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free alternatives available. Great atmosphere, nice to sit outside on warmer days. Unfortunately over the last few months the quality of the coffee has gone a bit downhill for me. They used to serve a good, full bodied coffee that I loved, while lately I haven't enjoyed the new blend, with its heavily roasted, burned aftertaste. It's a matter of personal preference, not necessarily a criticism.

   Sorry, but you've messed up. Should be a gem and it's not. Till failure and staff don't know what to do. Lunch time, 12.45 and low on food. Asking what can be warmed up, and getting back you can have one of 2 panini's. Is in they had only 2 panini's. Ordered cup of tea, had to keep asking for it. Really disinterested staff whom I assume are students earning some money, but they do need training. Customer behaviour as demonstrated would mean any other small cafe would shut in weeks due to this service. If I was the head of catering, I would want to know why my margins are not being met and exceeded particularly in Cardiff. This should be a go to place, not don't go to place and use a main stream competitor. You could be showing localism in staff employment and training incl. the disadvantaged, buying local produce and contributing back into a circular economy. So much more could have been done; it looks nice but fails. This is a front door view for non-CU students. Such a shame.

   Fresh, delicious vegetarian and vegan food, lots of choice. Fabulous filled open rolls and salads, loads of flavour. Generous, comfy seating, delightful decor. Friendly staff. Oh, pastries and sausage rolls too. Yum, yum yum.
