“First time here today, popped in for a quick bite. First impression was very welcoming, warm environment. Great value for money regarding the food and what we had to eat was delicious. Other plates from the kitchen looked amazing as well. Very friendly and helpful but not over attentive staff. Outside seating. Carpark Dog friendly, child friendly Access for wheelchair Thank you for a brilliant experience, we will most definitely be back!”
“Everything you could ask for, generous portions, good food, good prices and a great vibe”
“Popped in for a takeaway lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the choice on the menu. A little on the pricey side but all freshly prepared and very high quality. I had a filled focaccia which was delicious and actually could have been shared between two so did my lunch for 2 days. Also tried the blueberry torta which was crumbly and light! Definitely going to be returning & will take some pics next time and eat in. The decor was contemporary with rustic touches, plenty of seating and an outdoor area but didn't see it to comment in. Absolutely worth a visit!”
“The best coffee shop in Cardiff! The top 3 best espresso’s I’ve ever had in my life. After traveling for the last decade around America, Europe and the Middle East, the Kenyan kaguyu AA was extracted perfectly from Hardlines cafe in Cardiff. Often having taste notes such as blackberry, treacle and hibiscus you often don’t taste that and usually quite disappointed as you drink a bitter/ sour espresso…. But the description is bang on perfect as the flavors explode in your mouth with perfect sweetness and taste balance. It’s exactly what it says it is. I ordered a second literally instantly because of how good this tasted. It has reinvented the idea in my mind of what a good espresso tastes like. The culture is humble - kind, loving and caring. Being the best espresso - a kind culture and workers that are willing to discuss and open about their extracting process is rare. They’ve done a great job at making it all about quality without snobbery. A welcoming and enjoyable environment to be apart of and glad that I was able to experience it for a moment. (Apologies for the half eaten food pic) but it was too good to wait. A very generous amount of food for a great price - especially in this economic climate. I had a breakfast bun - a bun as soft as a cloud and filling for such a good price. You have to come here. It was worth the 3.5 hour drive alone just for the espresso on the flight I bought. Fire merch - fire food - exquisite espresso - phenomenal customer service. Go here asap!!”
“Amazing cafe, very good food at very cheap prices! The owner is lovely and friendly, we talked about art, he has his photos up on the walls too, I was impressed! Clean unisex toilet at the back. Really welcoming, friendly atmosphere.”
“One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever visited, it should be since I've been planning on going for 15 years now, such a small place, but with an excellent, authentic atmosphere. Will definitely come again, although always remember to book in advance as there's only 13 tables.”
“As part of my adventure to discover tasty foods around Cardiff, I stumbled across Vivo Amigo and I'm glad I did. After walking by and seeing a table full of mouthwatering food which was Instagram worthy, I decided to venture and for a lunchtime meal. Upon entering and admiring the decor in addition to the admiring the table full of colourful dishes, I was warmly greeted and shown to a table. I ordered the tandoori burrito which I was highly impressed by, not only the presentation but the amount of different flavours the dish had. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and will be returning after they have released their new menu in June.”
“Great place for a traditional all-day breakfast at a good price. Great friendly service and fast, hot tasty food. Definitely worth a visit. lots of other food available. I will work my way through the menu... Lots of inside seating or a couple of tables outside in the sunshine”
“Charming cafe with warm welcoming staff and delicious food, especially the afternoon tea. - Fantastic food with some vegetarian and vegan options. - warm and welcoming staff. - The afternoon tea is amazing with delicious scones, pastries, sandwiches, and free tea refills. A lot of afternoon teas feel overpriced but this one felt more than worth the £20 it cost. - Nice looking interior decor.”
“Lovely Thai food and good value for price. Would definitely recommend to try as it is one of the authentic taste for Thai food. Everyone was very friendly there, would definitely return.”
“Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value. However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant! The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries. I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. Thank you and keep up the great work!”
“Had my lunch here today had the most tasty half chicken I think I’ve had in a long time,it was cooked on a bbq and had the most delicious spices on it. Also came with fries and salad the salad came with a homemade spicy mayo that was also very good. Definitely would order this again.staff are also friendly. Highly recommend this dish”
“Excellent service and beautiful girls serving..fantastic food and great value..would recommend 100%”
“I use Zoe's cafe twice a week and the food is lovely. I ask zoe to make certain dishes to meet my dietary requirements and she is always very glad pull out all the stops for me. I highly recommend zoe's cafe who offers a wide variety menu. The gluten free scotch eggs are a personal favourite and the food always feels home cooked. Top marks”
“Best in Cardiff for Persian food. Family run. Polite and friendly service. Food was delicious, well cooked and tender”
“A remarkable place, with space for exhibitions and art studios. They also serve (vegetarian) food during the day; but we were there for an evening event so I can't comment on that. But I'm impressed with the vision and facilities of Barnabas Arts House. I'm sure we'll be visiting again.”
“What a warm welsh welcome to this local cafe based in Beddau. The food is absolutely beautiful and plentiful. I enjoyed an ultimate breakfast as the next size up was too much for me. If you like a challenge and enjoy your food, this is one experience you need to try. A breakfast of champions cooked to perfection by Amber. The cafe seats 28 people, and it also has a toilet. If yout ever anywhere near Beddau and feeling hungry, this is the place to be, whether it's breakfast or lunch. Amber has something to ticle your taste buds and test your limits. Highly recommend a visit”
“After a long drive, this was just the ticket. Excellent Big Breakfast with a decent cup of black coffee to wash it down. Enjoyed it enough to have the same the next morning, too. My companion, who is local, will be back, too. Yes, there are better breakfasts out there, but not necessarily better value. They are a lovely couple that run the cafe, too.”
“Went here recently for a vegan afternoon tea, and was absolutely blown away! We booked in advance and went as a group, and were treated to some absolutely delicious treats! Sandwiches, tea, scones, iced custard slices, cupcakes - we were thoroughly spoiled! I'll definitely be back.”
“Like what they are doing here with the staff. Great friendly staff. Fantastic food. I would highly recommend”
“Confess that I haven't been here for years. Went early for breakfast today. Greeted by a clean and tidy cafe with a happy couple, they were busy in the open kitchen hand making pies. Had a medium breakfast...plenty of food on the plate. Great price too. Wont leave it so long next time”
“Really nice little cafe, not too busy on a Sunday afternoon and service was friendly without the, "hey guys everything okay?" every 20 minutes. I had a wrap and chose the side salad over chips, the dressing in the side salad was really tasty and my wrap was properly full. Peach ice tea tasted like a proper peach tea rather than a peach syrup concoction. Good selection of drinks in the fridge (was excited to see glass bottles of pop!) as well as hot drinks and smoothies on offer. My friend and I shared a slice of pistachio cake after and that was really tasty, too. Keen to come back and try a breakfast ☺️”
“Very friendly staff, food was hot and tasty, cooked well, not greasy at all, well done and thank you. Daughter liked your cakes too...”
“Amazing breakfast, good with allergies as well. Highly recommend! We were also a big group and the service was fast.”
“Cardiff Bay is a vibrant waterfront area in Cardiff, Wales, that offers a mix of attractions, dining, and entertainment. It's known for its mix of old and new architecture, including the historic dockland and modern buildings like the Wales Millennium Centre. Visitors can enjoy walking paths, boat tours, and various dining options. The area has also been praised for its cosmopolitan feel and family-friendly activities.”
“Popped in to have lunch today and I must say as usual lovely polite staff very friendly a very busy place plenty of place to park good quality food and not overly priced certainly will recommend to anyone”
“This is a great place to eat, the staff are very friendly and helpful, cafe and kitchen are spotless everytime we have used it and the service is second to none, as for the food it's amazing value for money and the cook prepares it as its ordered and it cooked and presented with pride not just slapped on a plate. I love this cafe so dose my wife and 4 of our children along with our grand children we will keep coming back for more as we can't get enough of the best cooked tasty food in this part of Cardiff and all of Canton & Ely areas. 10 out of 10 from our family.”
“Delighted to have found this little place. Food was delicious and excellent value, 4 of us ate for under £40. You absolutely must try the sticky rice and mango dessert, a delicious treat and no mistake. Decent selection on the menu including plenty of spicy stuff. Will definitely be back!”
“Lovely, friendly village coffee shop. A great selection of drinks, cakes and breakfast/lunch. Always a warm welcome.”
