Cafe in Caerphilly

“Popped in for a takeaway lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the choice on the menu. A little on the pricey side but all freshly prepared and very high quality. I had a filled focaccia which was delicious and actually could have been shared between two so did my lunch for 2 days. Also tried the blueberry torta which was crumbly and light! Definitely going to be returning & will take some pics next time and eat in. The decor was contemporary with rustic touches, plenty of seating and an outdoor area but didn't see it to comment in. Absolutely worth a visit!”

“Delighted to have found this little place. Food was delicious and excellent value, 4 of us ate for under £40. You absolutely must try the sticky rice and mango dessert, a delicious treat and no mistake. Decent selection on the menu including plenty of spicy stuff. Will definitely be back!”

“Loved this lovely snack bar situated on the top of Caerphilly Mountain. From there you can follow a number of trails, taking you on a few Circular routes. We found the cream of the crop when we discovered a World War ii Spitfire that had crashed into Caerphilly Mountain in 1914, there were no surviers, but a memorial has been maintained just off the main trails. We had refreshments at the snack bar and enjoyed. First class service guys.”

“A perfect place for a little bit of lunch or a cake and a cuppa, especially if you have young kids! The kids corner is perfect to keep little ones entertained. And the handmade baby clothes being sold are amazing, my daughter loves her new dungarees!”

“Lovely little pub to stop in for food. They stop serving at 2.30 then kitchen is open again in the evening I’m presuming. The food option were varied, up to date & really delicious food. Would return and recommend”

“Went here for brunch date with the hubby at 11am. They gave us both the breakfast and lunch menus to choose from. We chose sandwiches from the lunch menu and soup of the day which was honestly so good! Price is very good. We had an amazing experience.”

“Took my two Shih Tzu's for grooming in The Pet Shop. They had flea and worming treatment done as well because my one dog won't take the tablets. I feel they did a fantastic job with my dogs as they can be quite anxious. One is more anxious than the other. They gave me good advice about my dogs for their anxiety. They were able to tell me that my dog had an infection in her ear so I could treat it properly. The price was reasonable. They look absolutely lovely, so pleased with they way their fur was cut. Would highly recommend them.”

“The atmosphere was perfect, food devine and the first class. We completed our walk over Caerphilly Mountain and Trig Point and could see for miles over the Egwysian, Caerphilly, the Bristol Channel, Steel Holm, flat Holm and Cardiff. Loved the walk and the well deserved refreshments at the Travellers Rest”

“Took my Nan for a birthday meal here, which unfortunately had a lot of no shows. The staff were so lovely and kind, they really turned the day around for her and went above and beyond. I'm extremely grateful to all working yesterday. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, I'd come back for the roast potatoes alone. Food was quick to be served and a lovely atmosphere as always. “Mother’s Day lunch. The tables were dressed lovely with flowers, chocolates and a card for Mum I also had a glass of Prosecco. We then ordered the turkey lunch which was hot and served with extra pigs in blankets. The wait was not too long and the staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Liz at the bar, Leo who served us and Danny who took our booking.”
