Stumbled across this place whilst out for a little ramble... and although it was mid afternoon on a wet Friday the welcome was as warm as the fire, which was welcome itself. Just grabbed a pint and a portion of their lovely triple cooked chips - and will definitely look to make a conscious effort to come back again.

Food was nice (but a little overpriced for the portion sizes). Waiting time for main meals was way too long, over an hour. They forgot about a starter, but did take it off the bill once they realised (by which point we were half way through our mains). They then didn’t bring out the desserts together even though we once again had waited a while. There was an extra item on the bill, and I wasn’t offered my change when I paid (even though it was only 15p it should have been offered). Overall not a pleasant experience

Beautiful pub with a delicious Sunday roast. Plenty of choice for mains and dessert and extremely accommodating for children and their needs. Staff were super friendly especially Gina who although busy took the time to chat and ensure that all visitors felt welcomed. Will definitely be returning!

Lovely little pub to stop in for food. They stop serving at 2.30 then kitchen is open again in the evening I’m presuming. The food option were varied, up to date & really delicious food. Would return and recommend

Stopped off for a drink and lunch on a hike around Caerphilly mountain. 10 of us just dropped in, were made very welcome despite other bookings they fitted us in. Really good soup and great beer.

Excellent service by the whole team, but especially by our waitress (Billie). She couldn’t do enough for us and was extremely helpful. The food was fantastic, good quality, well priced and good portion sizes.

2nd visit and again didnt disappoint. Booked a table that morning for Sunday lunch, service and staff was second to none. Booked 2 courses and both were delicious. Opted for the mixed meat main which included Turkey, beef & gammon...served with roast potatoes, huge homemade Yorkshire pudding, stuffing cube & roasted parsnip. Piping hot and so tasty. Vegetables served in a tureen which was cooked to perfection and very enjoyable. Cleared the plate but was too full for dessert. Place soon filled up and when we left the staff were running round trying to accommodate and help customers. Very professional and courteous staff. 10/10 for it all, will definitely be returning

Went with Grandchildren to celebrate husband's birthday. He asked for two of the meals on the menu both were unavailable. I had a pie which was great unfortunately the mash with it had a crust on top as though it had been kept under a lamp or something similar. Also very long wait for food. Hopefully this was a one off .

We went for a nice walk and arrived here. Nice warm decor and welcoming staff, great place for a drink. The food was pleasant, for similar meals we have paid less. Chips were very nice, I did enjoy the veggie lasagne though some of the salad was on the turn (see picture), my friend felt the chilli could have had more heat.
