The Great Vape Investigation of 2025 It’s truly impressive that the staff at this establishment have pivoted from hospitality to full-time Paranormal Vape Detectives. My friend and I were treated like international smugglers hiding high-tech fog machines, despite the fact that our only "cloud" was the literal air we were breathing. Apparently, "we don't vape" is a phrase that is particularly hard to understand and so must have translated to "please stare at us from behind the bar and whisper aggressively" in their local dialect. The unprofessionalism was almost theatrical—the pointing, the lurking, the lingering glares. I half-expected them to pull out a magnifying glass to check if my brownie was actually the vape they were hunting for! #willneverreturn - will give them some time off from their ageist vape hunt!

I've always had great food, drink and service here. Clean and tidy, with plenty of seating. A small number of parking spaces here too, usually quiet here.

Quite a tidy venue. Interesting history. Aneurin Bevan the founder of the NHS. Parking ok . Food was nice. Good value. A meal for 2 people and drinks included. Pint of Guinness and unlimited coffee for the better half. Just over £20.00. What's not to like.

Ordered a full English with Heineken zero. Food was perfectly cooked. Very happy with quality. Consistently delicious. Service was wonderful.

During a business trip I stayed at the Village Hotel. Since I didn't want to go into the crowded city center of Cardiff on a Friday night, I decided to go to this pub, which is only about 5 km from the hotel. The establishment was well attended and noisy, but there were still few free tables. The pub consists of several rooms and winding corridors, so you can also choose a quieter spot in a corner. I ordered ten chicken wings with blue cheese sauce and a buttermilk chicken burger with fries and a drink. The drink and food were delivered in a reasonable time. The chicken wings were hot, crispy and meaty and had a pleasant flavor. The sauce, however, had almost no taste. The burger was okay, but the chicken was too dry. At no time did the waiter come to the table and ask if everything was okay with the food, the table was also not cleaned. Of course, we know that Wetherspoons doesn't stand for the best quality and service, but they could really put a little more effort into it to make this a better place.

This place is all over the place. Met family there on Sunday food cold over cooked and staff never once cleaned the tables from past guests. I'm sorry but the staff need training and the kitchen needs an overall. Also maybe be good idea to hire additional staff for Sundays.

Visited on 6/1/23 - customer service was appalling. Having to wait 5 minutes to get served because a member of staff is too busy talking to someone on the floor having a personal conversation. We were a large party of 10+, about 5 of us had to send back hot drinks because they tasted disgusting. Tables were left uncleaned after people had vacated for far too long to the point new customers were coming in and having to relocate the old dishes etc to other tables for them to sit down. Also this is no fault of the staff here but the app is showing an out of date seasonal menu which led to disappointment at the unavailability of a lot of choices that looked good when browsing.

This place shouldn't be high on anyone's expectations after all the head chef is a microwave. Is it good for a quick bite and a drink? Yeah sure. However its not very good if you plan to have above average food and don't want watered down pints. Recently they have been reducing their meal sizes and portions hoping no one would catch on but see my attached picture and look at the amount of rice served with a curry and the picture is after we sent it back to the kitchen to have more rice added, so you can imagine what the portion was like before. They also forgot one of our meals and it was only after everyone started eating that we realised they weren't coming with our other meal . So we had to go to the bar to notify someone however there was no one there so we had to wander around to try find a member of staff who could locate our food. Also if you're arriving here by car MAKE SURE you input your registration to the machine at the bar, as the car park is monitored by a scam parking company who will send you a ticket in the post if you forget to input your registration, and there's no point calling the pub for help as they say its nothing to do with them as the car park is monitored by a separate company. All in all pretty average Wetherspoons.

Ordered by the app because I was by myself service was quick. No pouring cream for the dessert or no pizzas so couldn't use my discounts. Wifi is goo. Food came out warm but brownie was hot. Felt like the gammon, egg and chips were lacking in authenticity and didn't come with pineapple. Sounded like they were using a microwave in the kitchen as you could hear the beeping every few seconds. Disappointed in the gammon because it was sliced too thin and looked like it was just reheated. The app didn't give me the a option to change the ice cream to cream so I had to ask and what she said was my response in the first sentence. Also, didn't get a straw with my drink even thought there was I had pressed yes and the drink came after the food.
