“What a lovely place. Owners are nice and the food and coffee is amazing. I was really surprised with this place, I think it’s probably the best caffe in Newport and I have tried all of them. Only found this place today. Will likely be a regular.”

“The ambiance in this restaurant is first class. Ive dined there twice in the last year and the music selection / vibe was the first thing that I tuned into on both visits. Felt so welcome, special and looked after. The food was super tasty and an intriguing selection (would have been happy with anything on the menu really). Echo the comments in the other reviews on the Spinach gratin and short rib croquette. Cocktails visually decorative and well mixed and went down a storm with our party. Especially in Nightshade. Service excellent - Isabella (Italian)? Was fantastic with us but all staff very attentive. Simply can't wait to return.”

“After a long drive, this was just the ticket. Excellent Big Breakfast with a decent cup of black coffee to wash it down. Enjoyed it enough to have the same the next morning, too. My companion, who is local, will be back, too. Yes, there are better breakfasts out there, but not necessarily better value. They are a lovely couple that run the cafe, too.”

“Really comfortable way to watch films. The bar area is very smart with a great atmosphere in the evenings. If you're having food it's best eaten at a table in the bar rather than off your laps in the dark! Less messy too.”

“Went for an evening meal (kids - 10 and 13 - parents and grandparents). We all felt that it was an excellent meal. The service was fantastic and all staff were friendly and helpful throughout - it felt that everyone genuinely wanted us to have a good time and did everything they could to to achieve this! “Simply stunning! We chose the set menu which is great. We ordered prawns, skewers, beef and chicken. This was accompanied by rice and greens Staff were really friendly and the food tasted superb. We loved the venue too, very different and worth a visit”

“Beautiful find . The bar maid open up the choc bloc gin and encouraged testers. It was nice to try new drinks. The bar staff so friendly its like walking into a friendly local . The band got everyone dancing . Everyone danced loved it .”

“I had a really enjoyable meal here last Tuesday evening. We were sat upstairs and the decor is fairly low key. It’s not fancy but it doesn’t need to be. On the way in I noticed some bar tapas so when the menu came we started by ordering one of each of all of the meat ones and a vege one. They were delicious and well presented. We coupled this with some beer and wine. John, our waiter, was super friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the food and wine. Made us feel really welcome and was on hand through the meal when we wanted more. We then ordered a round of hot and cold tapas. The standouts were the chorizo which was sooo soft. The mushrooms were also immense. Loved them. Wanted more! All the dishes were great. The calamari’s was a little dry and maybe needed a dip with it but it was a small footnote. Really enjoyed the meal and would 100% go back again.”

“I’ve visited flight club twice, once with a group of friends and once for a works Christmas night out. Thoroughly enjoyed both times! After going the first time I knew it would be a great option for the Christmas do, and it was such a good laugh, we played over two boards, next to each other meaning you can still socialise with everyone. You can order drinks to the area but the bar was close by too. After we finished our session we went out to the rooftop area which was great, plenty of space and a great atmosphere. Although you’re outside there are plenty of heat lamps to keep you warm no matter the temperature.”

We had a great visit, the young man serving was very attentive and friendly, the food was extremely tasty and great portions and the whole place was clean and tidy, a nice relaxed and warm atmosphere. “A long way out of town but fairly close to the Cardiff City stadium. And it was worth it. Lovely friendly pub. Loads of real ales. I found some Bombardier again!! It was empty when I walked in but packed an hour later with not enough staff!! Why on earth don't they pay extra staff, organise themselves and get a bumper Boxing day pay out !! After all January won't be busy. It really isn't rocket science. We gave up queuing in the end and went to the Stadium. They really are missing a trick with 3k away fans....considering it is such a lovely unique place...”
