“Had a fantastic meal from Annie's Fish bar! The food was piping hot and the portion sizes were exactly what you want from an proper chippy! We also had a portion of Chicken curry with chips and the chicken was immense! Thank you so much guys! We will be back.”

“The food here was amazing! We all ordered the mixed kebab with rice and salad, portion size was generous, the meat was tender and full of flavour, and the price was very reasonable. It also came with fresh bread and lovely sauces. The staff were very friendly, we ate here on a hot day and they were very accommodating and moved their fans to suit us. Overall a 5 star experience, thank you!”

“I had a really enjoyable meal here last Tuesday evening. We were sat upstairs and the decor is fairly low key. It’s not fancy but it doesn’t need to be. On the way in I noticed some bar tapas so when the menu came we started by ordering one of each of all of the meat ones and a vege one. They were delicious and well presented. We coupled this with some beer and wine. John, our waiter, was super friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the food and wine. Made us feel really welcome and was on hand through the meal when we wanted more. We then ordered a round of hot and cold tapas. The standouts were the chorizo which was sooo soft. The mushrooms were also immense. Loved them. Wanted more! All the dishes were great. The calamari’s was a little dry and maybe needed a dip with it but it was a small footnote. Really enjoyed the meal and would 100% go back again.”

“Great service only surpassed by the quality of the food. Had the sharing lamb as a main , with prawn croquettes and sourdough to start. The tables are spaced out, the service not intrusive and the general atmosphere was good. Look forward to eating there again.”

“Absolutely excellent, friendly service. Lovely setting in the heart of Cardiff. An easy place to find that serves Welsh food. Never having had Welsh rarebit before, I was eager to try it but I have nothing to compare it to so perhaps that is what it was supposed to taste like. The cheddar was not in any way sharp so perhaps the other ingredients overwhelmed the taste (?). It was effectively toast with a slightly cheesy taste with very little flavor. Bland would the word. The croquets had the right texture. Crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle. But again, it felt under seasoned - although maybe that is what it is supposed to taste like? All in all, worth a visit but if Welsh food is supposed to be bland, then it is certainly that.”

“Loved this lovely snack bar situated on the top of Caerphilly Mountain. From there you can follow a number of trails, taking you on a few Circular routes. We found the cream of the crop when we discovered a World War ii Spitfire that had crashed into Caerphilly Mountain in 1914, there were no surviers, but a memorial has been maintained just off the main trails. We had refreshments at the snack bar and enjoyed. First class service guys.”

“We had a great meal here at lunchtime. The server was incredibly helpful, running through the offers available for us to get the best deal and saved us money, and even offered blue light discount without us even asking which was really appreciated. Food came super quickly, with generous dips provided too. The burgers were delicious and juicy (we had the signature smash burgers) and seasoned chips with cheese were super tasty too. Service was absolutely top notch and very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food we were provided. Will definitely be back, thanks so much!”

“Over the years I have stayed at many hotels, each usually with their own restaurant, few are good, some mediocre and many are poor. Out of all the hotels I've stayed at I'm happy to say that the Chefs at this restaurant are why I return and why I'd say it's somewhere within my personal top 3 hotel restaurants I've dined at. The food is always genuinely excellent, a particular favourite is the scotch egg with pea puree and bacon jam... a good reason in itself to return! The pork belly with fennel, cabbage, potato gratin and sage stuffing is another excellent dish, each element is clearly treated with care and skill which absolutely shows in the finished product. Thank you to the chef for making another night away from home a little more tolerable by way of excellent cookery.”

“I was returning from the chemist. I was hungry and had been hungering for some lamb cooked over charcoal. I asked their recommendations, and their chef came over and told me the lamb options they had. I ordered Beyti, which was lamb mince mixed with chopped herbs and spices, in a freshly toasted wrap. It was simply amazing. Great depth and range of flavours, and the servings were more than enough. It was a great eating experience, and the chef was right to recommend eating the salad mixed in with the lamb in the wrap; the flavours mingled yet were side by side in each bite. Outside and inside looked inviting, the interior decor was pleasing with a 'night life in a hot country holiday' kind of vibe- gold, black, mirrors, that sort of thing. Seating was comfortable, and the place was clean. Cutlery was shining. The owner and his son were courteous; it was service with smiles. I've recommended the place to my friends and will be coming there again. It wasn't expensive and this place is a culinary excellence.”

“Be meaning to pop in for ages , so after the pier brought the kids in because I love anything bbq . I just love smoked meat my two boys had the nuggets and chips kids meal great value coming with drinks the eldest said best chicken nuggets ever and he's the most fussy person I have ever meet. I live for burnt ends pulled pork was great and the sausage , lucky I was parked at the end in a booth and the ribs hands on I was covered in bbq sauce. Staff really friendly and attentive. Lovely clean .”

The staff are super lovely, the GM is incredibly professional and attentive, the food is fantastic I'm such a sucker for the pizzas and the portions are incredible for what you're paying! The playlist is great too. It's clean and well looked after. It's definitely a buzzing atmosphere on match days too! Always the first place I recommend to anyone visiting! And the beer selection is the best in Cardiff, I'm always discovering new beers I love, and there's a good rotation so I can try something new frequently! Weekly live music as well which is always fun to change up the night.”

“Stopped by here on a day out in Cardiff in the afternoon. The prices were very reasonable considering it’s in the heart of the city centre and there’s a good selection of food to choose from. Onto the food, very tasty and served hot. Also there wasn’t much of a wait at all - it was quite busy but the staff seemed to be very efficient. On top of this efficiency was great service. A blonde lady served us food and drinks and she was very warm and friendly. Will definitely come back here next time I’m in Cardiff.”
