Good location and food. The chips were chunky and really good. Loved the lamb cawl, very meaty and so satisfying with the toasted sourdough, butter and a big slice of Welsh cheese. Also ordered the Welsh rarebit although it could have been toasted/warmed more. Staff was helpful and accommodating. The only negative feedback we have is they need to update their opening times both on Google and their website, which both indicated a 12 noon opening time on weekdays. We booked a table for 12:30 only to find out they were still close. We let the staff know about this and she said she would sort it out.

Absolutely excellent, friendly service. Lovely setting in the heart of Cardiff. An easy place to find that serves Welsh food. Never having had Welsh rarebit before, I was eager to try it but I have nothing to compare it to so perhaps that is what it was supposed to taste like. The cheddar was not in any way sharp so perhaps the other ingredients overwhelmed the taste (?). It was effectively toast with a slightly cheesy taste with very little flavor. Bland would the word. The croquets had the right texture. Crispy on the outside, creamy in the middle. But again, it felt under seasoned - although maybe that is what it is supposed to taste like? All in all, worth a visit but if Welsh food is supposed to be bland, then it is certainly that.

Just wandered past this place and decided to check it out. My bf wanted to try Welsh food, so it made it a perfect spot for us to have lunch. The staff here were so friendly and sat us outside, which wasn’t a problem for us as it was a beautiful day. We both decided to get the Traditional Lamb Cawl with Sourdough Bread and Welsh Cheese. The waiter also suggested to us to order a side of fries just so we had enough food for us. The food came and it was very well presented and tasted delicious, although I do wish there was a bit more meat in the cawl. As much as I liked the place, there were a few things that were a bit strange. First one being, when I asked for the chunky fries on the menu as the waiter looked at me and told me they couldn’t guarantee that they would make them chunky. Which didn’t quite make sense as it said they were chunky on the menu. It didn’t matter too much as they served us chunky fries anyway. The last concern was when we went to pay and the prices of the dishes weren’t correct. Mainly the lamb cawl being 50p more and the fries being Β£1 extra. The staff sorted it out, but from my understanding, they didn’t quite seem that up to date with the menu, which concerned me a bit. Maybe it was a new menu, but the girl sorted it out in the end and was so friendly to us. They did also accept a student discount which was super useful to find out.

We recently dined at Pitch and while I loved the atmosphere and found the staff to be extremely nice, I was disappointed with my meal. My Bloody Mary tasted like plain tomato juice with no Worcester sauce or any spices, and my bangers and mash was drenched in gravy, which I didn't enjoy and I don’t like it to be like a soup (it was not a bad quality food, just not the way I like). Overall, I wasn't happy with my food and drinks. However, my husband did enjoy his beef and ale pie and drinks!

Served and welcomed by friendly staff, the food arrived in good time and we were checked up on a good amount during our trip. We ordered the sunday roast sharing platter which was delicious! Lots of meat on our board and the gravy was perfect. Absolutely loved our trip here and will definitely be visiting again!

Was looking for a local place to try some Welsh food. Hit the spot! Rarebit was lovely, sausages and mash was good, mash had leeks through it, sausages were mid range but I’m paying mid range so fair enough. Had the creme brΓ»lΓ©e for dessert, was nice with a brittle top. Staff are very nice and caring and you can tell that they make a nice team.

Went on a wednesday lunch with my mum. Service was friendly, fast and accommodating when asking for extra’s like napkins, glass of water. Vegan sharing platter was great with a variety of fried, fresh and roasted foods with many dip options. Great location for people watching whilst eating as well as relatively intimate-feeling considering it’s a patio too. Would repeat!

Cozy, intimate bar with yummy traditional Welsh options to warm you on a wet, cold day. Vegan and vegetarian options available! Service was quick and friendly. Close to the city center and Cardiff Central Station. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Enjoy!
