   I am very disappointed with my recent visit to Miller & Carter. We ordered a bottle of wine, but the waitress didn’t even open it for us or offer to do so. We specifically chose the Festive Menu 2-course option, where we clearly selected a main course and a dessert. However, when we received the bill, every item was charged separately, and the total was much higher than the actual price of the 2-course meal – even more than the 3-course option. What was even more frustrating is that the dessert was still charged as an extra £4, and when we questioned this, the waitress told us that “this is how it’s supposed to be”. This makes absolutely no sense, considering dessert was part of the 2-course option we ordered. Overall, the experience left a very unpleasant aftertaste.

   A great overall experience today. We visited the restaurant for my wife’s birthday and ordered from the lunchtime menu. The ribeye upgrade was well with the supplement charge. All food was cooked to perfection and tasted great. Thank you to our steak expert Tracey aka T! Fabulous service and a fresh pint offered as observed mine was coming to an end. Atmosphere was welcoming from the front of house with little humour around arriving early. Will definitely visit again.

   Lovely evening celebrating my son’s 9th birthday. Food was fabulous, served fairly quickly and atmosphere was lovely and chilled. Nick our server was perfect, made a fuss of my son for his birthday, made us laugh and couldn’t have been a better host. Thank you so much!

   The service made my evening. Sophie was very attentive and friendly server. She really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dinning experience. It would be nice if there were more seating in the bar while we were waiting, but this wasn’t a big deal. All round we really enjoyed the experience. Have already recommended Thornhill to our friends.
