   Being a long way from home (USA) and looking for some comforting Indian food after a long day, I was pleasantly surprised with all Castle Gate had to offer. Excellent service, which included tea on the house, combined with some delicious food made sure I was fully satisfied. The Devil's Tamarind with Lamb, paired with some crispy garlic naan and fluffy pilau rice, was spectacular and provided a uniquely distinct flavor profile. The restaurant was full of lively groups enjoying a night out, no doubt bolstered by the wonderful meal.

   Absolutely fabulous meals. We went for my son’s 21st birthday and we were not disappointed Rafi our waiter was superb and when he found out it was Bens birthday he came over with a bag of gifts for him. Thank you we had an amazing experience and the service we received was over and above.

   The only minus for the evening was that the food took a while, but considering we were a table of 10, you make allowances. Nibbles were had, and a plate of bahji's on the house too! When the food came, it was stunning! Worth waiting for!. All the staff were pleasant and courteous- even one staff member was concerned I had a white shirt with a red curry! The front of house/hospitality staff, Lucy was brilliant. Very polite, attentive and friendly, yet professional. She remembered our names and tended our table several times to make sure all was good. The bathroom facilities were clean too, and quite modern/posh! I will definitely return, and take my wife next time. We'll done guys- Big Al. P.s., don't forget to validate your parking using the qr codes on each table.

   Very disappointed with our takeaway last night. When it arrived it was all cold. The curries were bland and had no flavour. Nothing was labelled so didn't know which curry was which. We spent £60 and was very dissatisfied. Looking at other reviews it might just be their takeaways that's disappointing.

   Best Indian restaurant we’ve been to. We wanted to meet up with friends we haven’t seen since the pandemic so we picked a half way point of Caerphilly. Searching for ‘the best Indian restaurant in Caerphilly’ we found castle gate, and it didn’t disappoint! The restaurant is warm and inviting. The toilets were clean and very high end looking. The staff were friendly and efficient, and of course the food was amazing! All in all an excellent night out.
