   We went for a special occasion, based on recommendations, and it unfortunately very much missed the mark. The food itself wasn’t great - with some parts of the meal actually coming out lukewarm and having to be sent back, and the dishes just didn’t taste very nice. The chutney “tray” was a literal scrape of mango chutney, and barely any yoghurt/pickles for 6 of us. One of our party received an egg in their Maharajah Bhuna and it looked mouldy/rotten in the middle. Most of the dishes contained overly burnt garlic, which left a weird bitter taste. We left the majority of the food, paid and left because it ruined an ending to a great day. In the most respectful way, I can only echo the sentiment of a previous review regarding the personal hygiene of one of the waiting staff - it was extremely off putting to smell pungent body odour, in a restaurant. Definitely needs addressing. If you’re looking for a comfortable place to eat, with decent food, definitely choose elsewhere.

   My first visit to Jamil was for their Sunday buffet. I've been going to Cinnamon Kitchen, Zafran and The Grand Sultan on and off for years and somehow Jamil escaped my notice until I discovered it in my bed, on Google Maps on Sunday morning! I hadn't booked but I was outside at 12:00 opening time and the door was opened bang on 12. I was greeted and seated by friendly staff. The curries available were a vegetarian Aloo Channa which was nice if a bit bland, the usual "nation's favourites," Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala which I find horribly sweet and bland, but a Chicken Pathia which was very good and a Lamb Madras which was also very good. All of these curries were far, far better than the curries at Cinnamon Kitchen (where the curries are an insult and I think the chef has completely given up!) and the Sultan. However the highlight for me was the Chicken Tikka starter. Very nicely and freshly cooked, it was excellent with the fresh salad and delicious mint yoghurt sauce. There were also very good onion bhaji and cauliflower pakora on offer. All you want to eat, £14.95. Excellent, well done lads, see you next time.

   Very disappointing. We made a booking couple of weeks in advance, put on a table right in the bottom corner, plenty of spare tables could have put us somewhere where we didn't feel like completely out of it. No communication by waiting staff, we had 3 different people come and ask us the same questions when we had already advised waiting on another person. We ordered drinks, soft drink was warm and flat, I asked just for water Instead. They bring a jug of water and a replacement pint of lemonade, this still warm, even ice would not have chilled this. I explained I asked just for the water Instead, the waiter seemed to just stare at me as if I was from a different planet at this stage, following another member of staff came to check on the lemonade, why is this so complicated? Unfortunately waiting staff had a certain body odur that was off-putting as it smelt like they had run a marathon before the shift, when serving food this is a No. Our meals arrived and the dishes were literally thrown on the table, no care at all and considering two of them were on sizzlers this is dangerous. Later they did exactly the same to a group of ladies, we were lucky they were not so lucky. This restaurant has potential but you really need to sort the customer service out as this was very poor. Having trained and worked in the industry myself and also been a judge for Indian restaurant awards you can very quickly identify what needs doing to improving, some training and this would be a great restaurant as the food was decent. As a group we spoke and not one would return also customers outside said the same.

   First time ever we ordered a takeaway from this popular restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and was delivered hot. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone.Well done to the chef.

   Hubby and I went to eat here last night for the first time and wow were we impressed. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and so welcoming. I have eaten out in the past to many restaurants and this was by far the best meal out I've ever had. We will definitely be visiting this restaurants again and I would recommend Jamil indian restaurant to anyone. I actually can't wait to come back. We were so full up on stunning food that we couldn't manage a desert, but I do have my eye on the one I want for next time. Excellent place x
