“This may seem a strange occasion for leaving a review, but we had the post-funeral wake for my mum at the Ridgeway recently and they looked after us as well as we could have asked. We booked the cold buffet and this was excellent. A range of well filled sandwiches and rolls (we asked for veg and non-veg), quiches, salad, and some delicious delicacies, and then cakes to follow. It was more than enough for the numbers we ordered, even with many going back for more. The service was excellent. A very busy bar was looked after very efficiently by the staff, who were friendly and helpful through the afternoon and evening. No one wants to plan for a wake, but the team at the Ridgeway looked after us beautifully.”

“Me and my partner visited today (4th of October). We enjoyed so much, girl servicing was so nice, polite and helpful. Food was outstanding!!!! I've had steak which was exactly as I like it, there was no trouble when we asked for my chips to be cooked a bit more, Dave had mix grill, everything was cooked to perfection!!!! Beer was nice too. “We visited on Meat Free Monday (1st December), arriving in the pouring rain, and were immediately greeted with a warm smile and a cosy fire - the perfect welcome. We ordered the vegetable lasagne (both the vegetarian and vegan options) with chunky chips, and everything was delicious and such good value. The team were genuinely lovely, attentive without being intrusive, and made us feel right at home. It’s wonderfully dog-friendly too - they came straight over with a bowl of water for our girl, which we really appreciated. A great experience from start to finish, and we’ll definitely be back.”

“I was a kebab virgin, The workers were bloody amazing, they made a fresh nan in font of us. And filled it with lovely chicken and beautiful salad. The shop was so clean and every thing is on display for you to see I couldn’t recommend it more highly!!!! So friendly and happy, made us feel at home. “Took my Nan for a birthday meal here, which unfortunately had a lot of no shows. The staff were so lovely and kind, they really turned the day around for her and went above and beyond. I'm extremely grateful to all working yesterday. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, I'd come back for the roast potatoes alone. Food was quick to be served and a lovely atmosphere as always. “The Heath Pub is an old-fashioned pub in the cathays area in Cardiff. It’s a classic pub with daily activities. Ambience: The pub is located by the road on a good spot beyond the crwys road, not very far from the University Hospital of Wales. The pub itself is a huge one - divided into 3 areas including an outdoor beer garden. One area is dedicated for the daily events and the other one for gaming and stuffs. The pub has an old- fashioned classic outlook, with classy wooden furniture and a fireplace. It also has a bunch of TVs installed at every corner where they screen sports every time something is on. Activities - - Sundays - Sunday roast for lunch, Dan’s Big Quiz at nights every week (hosted by Dan at 8:30 PM onwards every Sunday is probably one of the best pub quizzes in town, with price money at stake for the winners) - Open mic nights on Tuesdays - Karaoke on Wednesday nights - Games night on Thursdays Live music on Fridays & Saturdays They host these events amazingly well every week, and there are regular patrons who religiously attend them every week. Food: Heath Pub offers a good selection of alcohol, cocktails, craft beer including the Brains - bitter and gold. They also serve food and snacks. Service: The bartenders and friendly and fun, and service has always been quick in serving. They also love to chat with the customers and make the atmosphere look friendly. Drinks Menu options ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Decor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for money ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My verdict: Not the liveliest pub around, but definitely has something in it to attract customers and glue them as regular patrons. Have rarely seen it being crowded except during the events at nights. Would recommend attending the events there.”

“Great little spot with good prices and fresh cooking. I ordered a large cheeseburger meal which included chips and a drink. Bread for the burger was unique inasmuch as it’s actual bread and not the typical additive-filled bun. The patties themselves were freshly-cooked and the charcoal grill was present in the taste. The cheese was a strong American-style slice and the taste was perfect (I’m glad there wasn’t two on the double cheeseburger due to the flavour). The chips were impeccable, due to their freshness and the real vinegar which they use, this is a nice touch which even chip shops don’t bother with nowadays, this provides a great taste. The drinks selection was wide and beyond the usual choices (there were both Monster Energy aswell as reasonably priced milkshakes). I’d definitely recommend due to the freshness, and the fact that other spots nearby charge the same for significantly worse quality.”
