Went yesterday for afternoon tea with Santa. We all had a wonderful time. My Neice spent loads of time with Santa he was great. The food was fantastic. So much we had to ask to bring some home. Lovely experience. Thankyou to all the staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a great afternoon

This may seem a strange occasion for leaving a review, but we had the post-funeral wake for my mum at the Ridgeway recently and they looked after us as well as we could have asked. We booked the cold buffet and this was excellent. A range of well filled sandwiches and rolls (we asked for veg and non-veg), quiches, salad, and some delicious delicacies, and then cakes to follow. It was more than enough for the numbers we ordered, even with many going back for more. The service was excellent. A very busy bar was looked after very efficiently by the staff, who were friendly and helpful through the afternoon and evening. No one wants to plan for a wake, but the team at the Ridgeway looked after us beautifully.

Visited here a couple of months ago and returned recently because we really enjoyed the first visit. Was left very disappointed by the latest visit and wouldn't return. I'd booked a table for a Sunday afternoon. Arrived at the restaurant which was quiet and seated quickly. There were no menus for food or drink on the table. A couple were seated near us after we arrived and had their food and drink orders taken within about 10 minutes of arriving. After 15 minutes I went to the bar and asked for someone to come take our drinks order. As I mentioned the restaurant was quiet. A waitress came over after a few minutes, we asked for a drinks menu. No drinks menu as they were updating them. Not a great start as we had no idea what the options were? We were then asked for food orders. Again asked for the menu, only to be told it was Sunday lunch only. This was also disappointing as last time there was a full menu on offer and no where was advertised to be Sunday lunch only. The starters were lovely then after around 1.5 hours the Sunday lunch was served. Again, really disappointed with the meal, the meat tasted like it had been warmed up, not fresh. The whole plate wasn't great which comparing to our last visit I couldn't believe the difference. When the waitress come to take our plates she asked how everything was, I raised my disappointment. She apologised and mentioned the owner had been taken ill. When we fed back about the meat tasting old she went back to the kitchen and we could hear the conversation with the chef around the meat not being old. I will say the restaurant did take one of the meals off but the whole experience just wasn't great so we'll not be returning. This place isn't the cheapest so my expectations are higher. I could understand if the restaurant was packed and over worked but it was very quiet. If there were issues with staff then it may have been better to close as I could hear other people complaining.

Had a meal here for Christmas 2022 and have also been here before. Firstly it has a lovely aesthetic and very clean. Definitely designed as a higher class pub experience. The staff were more than friendly and accommodating. 10/10 here. Wide selection of drinks though in my opinion a little expensive but were very nice. Food was nice for me and my partner but was a while to wait plus it varied in quality for the other party I was with. This is because (in my opinion) the restaurant was at full up and extremely busy as usually the food is amazing. Overall I had a wonderful time with excellent service and will definitely be back. Well done to all the staff!

Very welcoming pub. Had been walking my food in the area and asked if they accept dogs inside. No problem there's a small room just before the restaurant and had a lovely roast brisket dinner with everything and lovely starter but just no space left for dessert
