Very disappointed. 3 courses for 45 pound and both mains of turkey were cold. Asked the waitress for some gravy to put over the meal to warm it up and see photos of what was supposed to be gravy. Also, charity money added to bill without being asked. I already regularly donate 10 a month to cancer and 10 a month to Debra. Would have been nice to have been asked.

Overall the place is not bad but there are a few "buts". The guy at the rehearsal greeted us with a stony face, the drinks were tasty and I would especially like to mention the Aperol which was excellent. We waited for the food for over an hour, everything was not salty. The worst was the tuna in the salad which was bitter as if it was fried on an unwashed grill but the staff quickly fixed the problem which is a plus. I definitely won't be coming back here again and I won't recommend it to my friends.

Had the most beautiful meal at Cote Cardiff before going to see a gig at the Utilita. With me being Coeliac it’s always only 2 or many 3 things I can eat but this meal was very good. My partner and I have 2 gluten free starters and main and so lovely could have eat It over and over, thank you.

We visited Wed 22nd for a date night. It was sooo nice. The food was delicious, and the staff were great. One sauce top up was slow- But the staff had a difficult table next and the one girl said she was very new, to us so we appreciated them being under pressure. The table next to us were about 8 elderly people. They demanded quicker service as they were going to the theatre. They left saying they had waited 45 mins- They absolutely hadn’t, we were there before them and within 30 mins had ordered, and had drinks and starters. They ate all the bread (without covering any cost) then caused a scene leaving as their drinks were arriving. The staff dealt with it very well. The bourguignon was the nicest I’ve had, and my hubby demolished the mushroom side….. He doesn’t even like mushrooms! I must admit- If it hadn’t been for the Cardiff Devils discount we likely wouldn’t have visited- But we’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been going to Côte Brasserie for years and it’s always been one of my go-to places. As a francophile, I really appreciated that it offered good, authentic French dishes at reasonable prices.. Unfortunately, after their recent menu change, I was really disappointed. That said, I want to mention that the service was excellent as always. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional - my disappointment is entirely with the new menu, not with them. The new menu no longer feels authentically French and is more expensive - there are burgers and several pasta dishes, which make it feel more like a pub menu than a French brasserie. They have also removed the weekend menu and reduced the Blue Light Card discount to weekdays only (Monday to Thursday), which was another letdown. Even the “frites” are no longer the same; they are now just regular chips. The overall experience has lost that French charm that used to make Côte stand out. It’s a real shame, because Côte used to offer great value and a lovely French dining experience. Sadly, it now feels like expensive generic pub food with a few token French dishes. I won’t be going back, which is disappointing after being a loyal customer for so many years.

Staff were really attentive, helped bring and take away food very quickly. Everything came out within minutes of ordering/ finishing the previous course. Price was slightly high, but we are students to be fair. Portion sizes were plentiful with the 3 course Valentine’s Day meal, left very full and very happy. Food: French onion soup was pretty good, nice touch of alcohol. Steak tartare was very nice! Raw meat can seem slightly off putting, but the capers, seasoning, spices, and Tabasco condiments worked really well to mask this. Roast pork was interesting, well cooked, sauce was rich, veg and dauphinois potatoes all very nice! Would have preferred the skin to have been slightly crispier all around. Something different nonetheless, I’m sure it’s perfect if you have more sensitive teeth. Desserts were wonderful, no complaints, loved the salted caramel tart.

Not my favourite Cardiff restaurant, I'm afraid. The staff (and service) were superb - no complaints there. I just felt that the restaurant lacked ambiance as the tables were crammed too closely together which made it seem as though we were almost sitting on other peoples laps. The portion sizes were quite small, too, and I didn't find our starters or desserts very flavoursome; though the mains were nice.

I used to go to cote two years ago just for the onion soup. I visited this year and i wasn’t disappointed at all. This is still the best french onion soup i’ve had in Cardiff. The restaurant is comfortable. The staff are nice and helpful. The fresh orange juice was refreshing and of course the french onion soup was splendid. Great overall experience.

The interior of the restaurant is very classy, cosy and well presented. The food was absolutely outstanding but unfortunately service staff very unexperienced or very new . The ordering process went very smooth and quick. The food came out in few minutes was fantastic. Each time we wanted additional drinks we had to look for attention as no one was checking if we need anything or if ourmeal are ok . Two of us ordered flat white coffees which were only warm and very weak, more like small size lattes. We asked for them to be changed for stronger we received back the same dirty mugs with only added extra coffee shot in them. At this point we didnt even know which coffee is whos as they been both a bit drinked . All our table was a table hospitality managers and we were truly amazed of poor quality of service in such a nice place . On the end our boss wanted to say thank you and how much we enjoyed the food to the waitress but she basically ingored him with quick and cold " thanks " . Its such a shame as the place look beautiful and we all enjoyed our meals but we won't be back in a hurry due to the service issues .
