“We have been going to the Shamrat now for over 10 years and it is by far the best. Do not let the area put you off!! The food is always amazing and the staff really make it even better. They will really look after you and meet any needs you have. We come here for any occasion and also often get a takeaway. Whenever eating in the take aways are constantly busy which shows really how good it is. They also do a Sunday buffet which is definitely great value for money!”

“We love it here. I have come to Ty Madeira for years. The Espetadas are the main event, always cooked perfectly. I think over the years I have had the Fish & Prawn, the Fillet of Beef, and the chicken. Always cooked to perfection. The battered cauliflower that comes with the meal is fantastic. Perfectly cooked, not oily, with a lovely flavor. The service is always fantastic, where the servers build a rapport with you and are happy to laugh and joke with you whilst being very attentive and not overbearing. A definite visit if you are visiting Cardiff.”

“Booked for lunch. My wife had Spanish meatballs followed by halibut while I had salad, from the salad bar, followed by the home made beef pie. These were the 2 course lunch specials at £24 each. Both were delicious: the pie especially, with very tender meat, rich gravy and a light flakey crust (no pastry shell). Plus 2 drinks each and two coffees. Total cost £65. Excellent value, and excellent service. Highly recommended.”

“Just had a wonderful afternoon in the Welsh House, the food was of a very good standard, plenty of choice and well priced. The atmosphere was a cross between restaurant and bar, very relaxing and welcoming. We were attended to by the lovely Isabell who made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend and will definitely come here again.”

“Best Chinese takeaway I've had. Every dish had so much flavour and so much meat. The Szechuan Pork was delicious and spicy, loved the hunan beef too. Excellent General Tso's Chicken as well as Beef flank soup with noodles. Couldn't fault any of it. Been working our way through the menu for years and not had a bad dish”

Great friendly staff everywhere is spotless!! great meal out with the family, disabled friendly venue to, meaning enough space to get around as much as needed especially if you have a big bulky chair or similar. Parking is the only down fall (it don't have any) we had to be dropped off. But still a great venue to have a meal”

We always love the food and service is consistently brilliant, however today in particular was really busy, but Lille was attentive, kind and was still smiling and chatty despite the rush. “We visited Vittorios on a Tuesday evening. Lovely atmosphere, with family celebrations taking place and other groups of people. So despite being early on in the week, and not a weekend, it was still busy, demonstrating it is a firm favourite amongst customers. The staff were, I’m assuming family, and you could get that family run vibe whilst there, which added to the positive experience we had. Staff were attentive, whilst Also giving space and privacy to enjoy our food. Earlier the previous week, unbeknown to me my husband had spoken with Vittorios to arrange a ‘quiet area’ to sit down, so that he could propose to me to renew our wedding vows. We were placed in a quieter area, and my husbands request was managed discreetly without me catching on. Our wine was being brought to our table mid proposal and the young lad bringing it completed a 180 degree turn so fast to give us the space and privacy during the special moment. I couldn’t fault him for this and was impressed by the service we received. They congratulated us afterwards and gave us a complimentary celebratory dessert which was unexpected, but a really lovely touch. All food was hot, delicious and there were large portions. This restaurant is a local gem in Newport, and we are very grateful to have a created a treasured memory during our visit there. 10/10 service, food, and value for money. “Venue, food and staff are wonderful! Held a baby shower in the party room upstairs and was the perfect venue. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves with room to decorate, machine to play music, fridge to store food and drinks and terrace outside. We had a hot buffet with skewers for food and everyone complimented how amazing the food was. The staff were super attentive regularly checking we had everything we needed. Thanks so much for all of your help Agit!”
