“A unique restaurant with excellent service and outstanding food. We each has a three course meal for set price of £35. I had the baked camembert, then duck followed by raspberry cheesecake. Every course was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. The waiting staff were very attentive. We definitely will be back. Highly recommend.”

“Found this by chance when walked near the Victoria Town Hall. I saw good review on Google map and never regret with my decision to give a try and the influence of the good reviews. The lamb is super yummy, when I start eating I was doubting was I ordering a beef steak but it wasn’t, is lamb. I’m very impressed with the texture and the taste of the gravy. Excellent! The appetisers and snacks are all yummy and served in style. This is a place where you see the restaurant manager guiding the trainee students and they execute their role up to standard. I’m not sure who is the lady that guiding the trainees but I just very certain she is a great person to take care of the restaurant and the trainees. She oversees the overall services and the training. Impressive! And Appreciate!”

Talking on my last visit I must say this is a epicentre in not only the midlands but also the UK that all food and wine lovers must attend. We enjoyed the Chefs Table along with Wine pairings and it truly was an amazing experience. Every piece of food so thoughtfully made within eyesight and explained by the accompanying chef. Wonderfully enjoyed beyond words, needs to be eaten to believe. Each course served with a perfectly matched wine from the truly knowledgeable Sommelier with a knowledge base far reaching every question asked! The kitchen staff themselves being an amazing team working together in a fluid atmosphere with the real life day to day, and the amazing teamwork to create the most amazing food all under the eye of Chef Adam. “We had our Christmas party here last night at the Christmas party night - and that it was. The whole night was fantastic - from being greeted on the car park to the amazing meal to the bar, the staff, the disco - it was all fabulous. The team were so professional and attentive, a real credit to The School House . The meal - wow, everyone commented on how beautiful the meal was. The disco - great music, great dj- really got the party going. We all had such a lovely night. On behalf of us all thank you for the best Christmas party we’ve had, we will definitely see you next year”

“Had a lovely Christmas Day lunch. Everyone enjoyed their meal, it was very well organised and staff were extremely attentive even though they were clearly busy. We arrived as they opened at 12.30, were served drinks upon arrival. Service was swift but not rushed, we were on a reasonably tight schedule anyway due to having to be away by 2.30.”

From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly smiles and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The food isn’t complicated — it’s simply prepared with care and skill, which makes all the difference. And the chicken… oh, the chicken! “First time coming here. This restaurant’s customer service is 10/10 they are very hospitable and make you feel at home. The food matches the service as its a 9/10 only reason why it isn’t a 10/10 is because the spice wasn’t there, charge it though. Would recommend this if it’s your first time getting somali cuisine.”

“Went to the restaurant on Christmas day (22) for their set meal and it was fabulous. They brought out the sizzling 5 starters on a bed of onions. Followed by 7 mains plus a nan bread. The lamb shank just fell apart, it was so tender. And if you had any room left, 4 Indian sweets were next. It was a fabulous meal, filled me up and made my Christmas day. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant with it's very high standards. Always a nice relaxing atmosphere.”

“We came today for a Sunday Roast after a party night. AMAZING! Nice portions, good food quality. Gravy was handmade and the meat was perfectly cooked (I had pork and it was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside) Vinny has been so kind to us, checking if everything was alright and being so fast on any command needed :)”

Had never eaten here before but the food was very nice, I had Prawn Rogan Josh which had a nice flavour and spice. “Very nice decor, large restaurant with plenty of different seating and levels. Staff was very attentive and sat us very quickly, it was a quiet day. The table was big enough for all our food, there was salt and pepper at the table. We used a buyagift voucher with a set menu, this was very easy to use. Food was great, served quickly, staff checked on us regularly and were very nice and polite. We parked in the Asda car park as we did a little shopping afterwards (3h free parking).”

“Excellent all round. The restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem, tucked in behind the bar out of view from the street. We booked late after the cricket and the host couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was brilliant, everything we ordered was one of the best examples of each dish I've ever had. Would be good to see a few local cask & keg beers on the bar but still an ok range. Will seek it out again when in Birmingham next.”

Even though its always very busy, including birthday parties, the food quality is perfect and so is the service. The drink service is very efficient too. Even if you want a drink/cocktail not on the menu they still do it for you.”
