I visit at least once a week where I can. You have to book in a timeslot and order so make sure you call up before the orders are all taken and food runs out!”

Staff were amazing and engaging as well, offering their superstandard service wherever they could. The atmosphere connects all this together and tops it off, great vibe with montages of the Ombre restaurant playing in the background. Absolutely great! “We celebrated my spouse’s birthday with a wonderful dinner, enjoying perfectly cooked steak and delicious kebab both were incredibly flavorful and very satisfying. The birthday light show prepared by the staff, along with the beautifully presented baklava and cake plate, was truly impressive and made us feel very special. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. “First time visiting and honestly blown away! The lamb curry and keema were incredible — full of flavour and perfectly cooked. We went quite late, and it was one of the few places still open, but the service was spot on. Food came out in under 10 minutes, piping hot and fresh. The place was clean, including the toilets, which is always a plus. Can’t wait to go back and try their karahi and lamb chops next time. Easy 10/10!”

“Nice tea rooms in old manor with new additions. Good range if breakfast food served until 11:30am Lunch menu varied with many baked potato dishes. Prices are very teasingly and staff are very friendly. Small tea garden if weather is good:) Nice place to come anytime they are open!”

“Wow! What a gem on the Hagley Road! My partner and I had a late breakfast here on a Saturday, and what a joy it was. My partner ordered the Saganaki omelette and I ordered the Feta omelette. We also got two black americanos. The food arrived quickly, and was sublime. Both omelettes came with a lime wedge, a pickled pepper, raw onion, fresh mint, fresh basil and fresh flat leaf parsley. I greatly appreciated the herbs as I love them all, and I personally seasoned my omelette liberally with them. The omelettes also came with sesame flatbread, which we used to mop our plates clean! The coffees were great as well, with my only very minor note being that it would have been nice to have them in a glass with a handle, as they were too hot to handle for about 10 minutes. There is a single loo, which is accessible and well-maintained. Bonus points for a lovely sink basin. I'm including photos of the menu, which we were told has been recently updated. I think the prices are very reasonable for such good quality food. The cafe is decorated very nicely, and my only note about the general ambience was that the music was a very slight bit too loud for my taste. The staff were friendly and helpful, and created a friendly atmosphere. We will be back soon for a lunch and / or dinner - thank you Cafe Rumi!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing food and great experience at Shazans in Birmingham! Visited Shazans recently and was really impressed — everything from the food to the service was excellent. The place has a lively, welcoming vibe and you can tell right away that the food is made with care and passion. We started with the lamb chops and shrimp, and both were absolutely delicious. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked — tender inside with a lovely char on the outside. They were seasoned beautifully with that smoky, spicy flavour you want from good chops. Each bite was juicy, rich, and full of taste. The shrimp starter was just as good — fresh, well-marinated, and cooked perfectly so it was tender and flavorful without being chewy. The combination of spices and slight heat made it a great start to the meal. For the mains, we had the Shirpur donner with naan and a Naga donner pie, and both were spot on. The Shirpur donner was packed with flavour — the meat was juicy, nicely spiced, and paired perfectly with the soft, warm naan. It had that classic takeaway comfort feel, but with a fresher, better-balanced taste. The Naga donner pie was a real standout. It had a spicy kick from the naga that added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the rest of the flavours. The pastry was golden and flaky, and the filling inside was rich, savoury, and satisfying — a really unique and tasty dish that you don’t find everywhere. The portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and piping hot. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The staff were also super friendly and attentive, checking in often and making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Shazans is an excellent spot in Birmingham if you’re craving great grilled food and creative South Asian flavours. The starters were packed with taste, the mains were hearty and full of character, and the whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend trying the lamb chops and the Naga donner pie — both absolute winners. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!”

The food was very tasty - I had the prawns for the starter and rump steak for the main course and it was very delicious, cooked to perfection. “The xmas day lunch was excellent. Better than last year in fact. This year the soup came with amazing bread and just enough. Last year the bread was ciabbatta type and really filling and stodgy. Criticism- more gravy and brandy sauce needed on dishes. I would like to thank staff, chef and everyone involved for making xmas excellent. We will definitely be back next xmas.”

“Been using chester house on chester road for around 30 years now from the good old days when steve owned it , it might take a while to get through on the phone but well worth preserving, the lovely Natalie answers the phone takes your order , absolutely fantastic food every time, i highly recommend the Singapore chow mein extra spicy with extra meat my favourite, the king prawns in batter are to die for, the curries are absolutely fantastic, i recommend chicken and king prawn curry, the yuksung is the best around , prices are good and delivery is fantastic delivered by great friendly drivers.”

“Fabulous pub, new landlord and landlady making there mark everywhere is shiny clean, staff members serving with a smile, there’s even things on the “what’s on board” landlord described all the up and coming events and sports which I think will bring the pub to a whole new level!! new chefs are creating lovely looking food presentation is completely new and it’s piping hot, foods very cheap and tasty I stopped coming due to food being awful but looks like this will be my go to pub for grub!”
