“Lovely Indian restaurant with delicious food, friendly service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely come again.”
“The food was so good! We ordered the curried goat and the jamaican brown chicken both with fries as they were both delicious and perfect portion sizes. Very friendly service and quick too. Definitely would recommend!”
“Delicious afternoon tea. The open sandwiches were amazingly tasty. Service was great - very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!”
“We visited ‘The Bird’ during a stay with family, it was brilliant. Fantastic menu in a spacious and beautiful restaurant/bar. The staff were without exception friendly, polite and attentive to all our requests. It was a pleasure to be there and without doubt be returning. Only problem is we live in Kent so will come back when we can.”
“Loved this pub. Right on the river what a magnificent setting. The Sunday lunch was tasty and big, no corners cut. So relaxing watching the boats go by and our dog enjoyed it too paddling in the overspill from the river Highly recommended”
“We were upstairs, very nice. Food delicious and they were very accommodating for our fussy lot.”
“What a wonderful stay at SugarBeat! The restaurant served fantastic food, and a delicious breakfast. The staff were always so polite, friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room itself was lovely, cozy and clean, with a large comfy bed and super fluffy towels. Thank you for making us so welcome. We'll definitely return.”
“My granddaughter took me for afternoon tea for my birthday. It was super! I especially enjoyed the savouries which were delicious and so much nicer and more interesting than the usual sandwiches and sausage rolls.”
“Stopped off for something to eat on out way home from Wells. It smelt so good in the car we couldn't wait until we got home and pulled over in a lay by and ate what we could. The portions are amazing. Wish you were closer to where we live. You would go down a storm!”
“The waitress that originally seemed to completely forget about us, thankfully the absolutely fantastic Clara rose took over and was happy to help and a delight to be served by.”
“We had a very romantic valentines day meal here. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the setting was very chilled. The wine was good and the food was tasty and just enough to satisfy us without making us feel full. Would totally recommend!”
“The restaurant was slightly too loud to hear, the table was a bit uncomfortable. The food was delicious not one criticism. The food was hot tasty and we all enjoyed our food. It was a birthday meal was delicious. Our waitress was lovely and attentive”
“Room was very good and plenty of space, very clean. Food perfect! Evening meal excellent as was service. Free parking and very convenient for the city”
“The Hill House Inn in Happisburgh is the kind of pub you dream of stumbling into on a windswept Norfolk day. Perched not far from the cliffs, it has that mix of cosy charm and a bit of history woven into the beams. Inside, it feels like the sort of place where smugglers probably once traded contraband rum under the table while pretending to just be “popping in for a pint”. The ale is well-kept, the food hearty, and the welcome as warm as the fire in winter. It’s one of those pubs where you immediately relax – the dog gets a biscuit, you get a pint, and suddenly you’re contemplating whether moving to Happisburgh full-time might be a good life choice. The menu covers all the pub classics you want when by the sea, and the portions are not stingy. Pair that with friendly staff and a bit of local banter, and you’re onto a winner. If you’re anywhere near the North Norfolk coast, stop in. The Hill House isn’t just a pub, it’s part of the story of Happisburgh – and once you’ve been, you’ll find yourself looking for excuses to “accidentally” pass by again.”
“Lizzie was very attentive and helpful throughout the night, I had a wonderful birthday meal here and will be returning. I introduced my friends to Bill’s as well and they also loved it!”
“Brilliant meal. Lovely friendly staff, great menu choices including drinks (mocktails too!). The build your own Donburi bowl is fantastic, and I strongly recommend the hot honey chicken. Generous portions - i couldn't finish mine! Reasonable pricing too, I'll be back!”
“Visited today for a late Father's Day meal. Asked for the set menu, not a lot of choice but still good enough mixture, my food was good. Service was fantastic, fast, and friendly. Also, 2for1 on cocktails, so they went down a treat. Bottomless on the diet coke, so well worth the money.”
“What a place!! Brilliant food, service and atmosphere. Really lovely staff and lively food. Obviously the meat, but the onion rings and fries were so well seasoned as well. Can't wait to come back again.”
“There were eleven of us having breakfast together after attending Colney ParkRun. Staff were really good. They were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely. The photos are of Eggs benedict, Eggs and avocado on toast, and the full barrel fry up. I was very satisfied with the Eggs benedict, best I've had for a long time. (Complimentary toast too!)”
“Place seems lovely. Went there at 7.30 pm, it had been busy and there was only gammon for the carvery. We were offered chicken breasts also and sausage though so happy with that. Pretty good prices. View of the River is pretty. Would definitely go back just earlier for the carvery.”
“The view outside the Wetherspoon is nice and can chat with friends. It is nice to take food with the view of the Norwich Cathedral. It will be put on my favourite restaurant when I want to have nice food and chats with friends.”
“Had lunch with a great view.. food was fast, hot and tasty. Hats off to the manager Kay who served us, she made sure we didn't go without anything and checked back regularly. Great service!”
“I had a delicious lunch here. I sat at the window bar and watched the Christmas shoppers rushing by while I was cosy and being well fed. The celeriac remoulade had a good dollop of mustard and made a perfect appetizer before the beef bourguignon. That beef was so tender, the carrots soft, an unctuous and lipsmacking dish. The frites I ordered were crisp and salty, perfect for dipping into that gravy. Although I was full, I couldn’t resist their crème brûlée for desert which had that crack on top, hiding a sweet mellow creaminess underneath. The Pinot noir I chose to accompany the meal seemed perfect. Astonishingly good food! I was kindly welcomed in when I arrived and the service was timely and friendly. Wish I was able to visit more often.”
“This place is amazing with the best sausage rolls and brownies we’ve eaten in Norwich. Really friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere! I highly recommend the peanut butter brownies as they are the best brownies to ever exist!”
“From the moment we entered the restaurant, staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant not only looks beautiful but was also such a wide variety of food. The salad bar is extensive and full of lovely Brazilian dishes! All of the meat is really good quality and staff are quick to come round with the next meat option. The rump steak, pork belly and minted lamp were firm favourites. Definitely worth the money and would definitely visit again!”
“I've eaten here twice now, once on a Saturday evening and once on a Sunday lunchtime. On both occasions I found both the food and service to be exceptional. The staff were both helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I live 45 minutes away, but the food was so incredibly good that I happily travelled that far a second time, and I would happily travel there again and again. The burrito was delicious, as was the roast dinner. I also liked the fact that they have vegan drinks on the menu. In the future I would be very interested in attending one of their cookery classes.”
“Beautifully put together menu, we went for menu 2. The rice cracker aperitif and lobster ravioli were our favourites. Service was attentive without being too much. One of the gems of the Norwich food scene.”
“Amazing experience in a really Italian restaurant. Food is prepared by Italian master chef who is talking to the customers about the ingredients, their source and origin, how to prepare and mix them. You will be served by Italians with a smile and genuine care about your experience. You will feel like you are in Italy with the whole dedication to the excellent food and fanatic service. If you go to Norwich, make sure you have booked your table there. You can thank me later. I recommend it with my whole heart and will visit them every time I get in the town.”
“One of my favourite places on the market! Go for the vegetable empanada with salad or chips - you can’t go wrong! The staff at Cocina Mia are so friendly and accommodating and are super efficient with getting your food to you even when they’re busy at the weekends :)”
“We had a really lovely meal, as we always do. Staff helpful and service is quick. The only complaint we'd have is that we were seated in the small dining room which accommodates two tables of 8. When occupied this can be really noisy. At times we struggled to hear each other. This is the second time I've encountered this issue. In future I will ask to be seated in the main dining area.”
