You could really tell he was passionate about the dishes and excited to share his knowledge. He gave us lots of recommendations, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. “Really enjoyed our breakfast at Bill's. Their big breakfast isn't as big, but was definitely delicious and hence I was able to completely polish it off. They even changed the egg to match my preference. The bacon, baked beans, eggs, mushrooms, and sausages were cooked to perfection. The black pudding however was not my favourite. Their jam and toast martini with vodka was one of my favourite things all day. Definitely try this if you visit.”

“Sitting in conservatory, was very comfortable. We just had cappuccino and cake then later pot of tea and chocolate tiffin. It was very nice. Staff were excellent, carrying a tray of tea/cake for me and clearing table when needed.”

“Slightly biased as have been coming here since the early 80s, and although we miss the old style pub, it could have ended up much worse than it is design wise. Food quality is back on an even keel and is consistently of good quality and presentation this taking away that level of apprehension you feel when you go to so many restaurants these days. Shout out to the young ladies and men of the service team who provide a very professional level of service in a pub / restaurant which I know for a fact can suffer from some challenging customers at times...”

“Just had a great Sunday lunch cooked by Chef Luke. Friendly service from Sam. Roast lamb was great and my wife had a half a roast chicken which she failed to finish - just due to the volume - and to ensure she could fit in some dessert. Cracking crumble and excellent bread and butter pudding with homemade vanilla custard. Great way to end a weekend away. Hoping to book the place for a birthday party next year...”

I opted for the roast lamb, which was cooked to perfection – tender, flavourful, and accompanied by the most delicious gravy. My partner chose the fish and chips, and it was hands down the best we’ve ever had. The portions were generous, and the presentation was top-notch. What truly set this place apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They even took the time to chat with us about the history of the pub, which added a lovely personal touch to our visit. To top it all off, the dessert menu was a dream. We shared a sticky toffee pudding that was simply divine – the perfect end to a fantastic meal. “Lively atmosphere with upbebay music played at a reasonable volume, quick to be seated. Service speed okay, and coffee beautiful Pizza was absolutely huge, hung over the side of the plate, which did cause the cut of the pizza to not go through the crust so a little difficult to eat The Gnocchi was exquisite and will be coming back for more Overall a nice restaurant to dine in, reasonably priced with vegetarian, meat and fish options of pizza and pasta”

“Amazing time in this restaurant, friendly atmosphere and staff, great for the money and the choices of meat and sides ( mains and puddings) were delicious!!! Great carpark around the corner... so you can relax and eat as much as you want! For 2 people we spent £71 which is reasonable for drinks and a 3 course meal. You can also go for a nice walk around the marina once you've eaten! Brilliant!!!”

“So this is my favourite spot in Hampshire for a spicy chicken fillet burger. The fillet itself is huge compared to the bun so you always feel like you’ve got enough chicken to bread ratio. But my partner loves grilled chicken and she used only ever go Nando’s. But now Texas grill is her new favourite and she will only ever have grilled chicken from here”

“Went there for brunch 11am booked a table in advance, the place is spacious and wasn't to busy, the stuff that serves was excellent and the food wasn't late to come after we ordered the portions are true american style and would go back there again. The kids menu was 2pounds and was llenty of food for a 10 and 7 year old”

“I rarely leave reviews, but the food and service at Mexifun were an easy 11/10 — I just had to share! We ordered two quesadillas (one chicken, one pulled pork) and a pulled pork taco, and each dish completely exceeded expectations — especially the pulled pork, which was tender, flavorful, and felt like a true taste of Mexico. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and every bite was packed with flavor. On top of that, the shop owner was incredibly friendly and attentive.
