“I was in the city for a short break with my girlfriend, and we stumbled upon this restaurant around 10 PM. The décor and design immediately caught my eye, and the lounge music created a sexy atmosphere. The service was excellent. The manager explained the menu to us, and we had our meal set up quickly. The drink options and cocktails were amazing. They had a unique twist on classic cocktails that still maintained the essence of their original recipes. I tried the spicy margarita, which was fantastic, and I enjoyed it so much I had five rounds! My partner preferred fruity and sweeter cocktails, so she tried three different ones, all of which she loved. The food was clearly made with love and passion. If you're looking for authentic Asian food in Southampton, this is the place to go. The spices and sauces were perfectly balanced. We ended the night on a high note, staying until the restaurant closed. On a separate note, if you're looking for more privacy, they also offer a private”

The gentleman who was front of house was so lovely and friendly, the food was phenomenal and it is such a pretty restaurant! We will absolutely be returning. “Got some Karaage Chicken and a Volcanic Cheesy Chicken breast. Cooked fresh in front of you, with a range of seasonings to choose from. Very tasty, the garage chicken was tender with a beautiful crispy coating, and the cheesy chicken was incredible too. Waited about 10 minutes to get my order, looking at the very nice fish tank. Great place to get some decent fried chicken.”

“Extremely impressed. Stopped in quickly on our way through Totton. Food was cooked and served within the 10-15 minutes promised. Set meal D for 2 for £20.80 was a dealious bargain. Loads of food which eventually served 3 adults and a child. So very happy with that. Everything was cooked to perfection and fresh. The best Chinese we have had for years. Will try and find any excuse to pass that way again soon for another treat. Just wish I lived closer. The kitchen is on view in the takeaway, and all is very clean. 5 star hygiene certified. I would suggest just pop in, order and takeaway.”

“One of the better Chinese take outs in the area. Always busy on a weekend which is a good guide to the quality of the food. We opt to collect as delivery times are often quite long due to demand. Take out however is typically 30 minutes from order. We have found their predictions are normally spot on. The rice tastes nice and fresh, both egg fried and boiled. The chicken is always nice and soft with a decent amount of chicken in each dish. Similar with the beef. The duck in orange sauce is also a good shout.”

“We have been buying from the Happy Family for several years. Never had a bad meal yet. Very occasionally a dish may have been forgotten but this is a rarity. Always piping hot, really nice and we all love it. We are grateful to have it near us. We only ever collect as its much quicker. 5 stars from me.”

“First time buying, slightly apprehensive reading past reviews! However the food was beautiful and the curry sauce is the best I've ever had. Very friendly staff and good prices. The Special fried rice is very tasty and packed with meat and seafood - even better for breakfast! My partner had ribs in curry sauce and was given a huge portion of 7 big ribs. With chips and prawn crackers, we had enough for dinner/breakfast and lunch - for only £17. Will definitely recommend.”

“Today our second child was born, as neither me or the wife would want to cook when we came back from hospital, we sat in the ward and decided to order a take away for the evening. A complete error on my side and I ordered it to be delivered at 5pm instead of 8pm. Without realising, Carly went to deliver and of course nobody home. Carly was so lovely about it and said it’s no problem we understand, we will re-deliver with a fresh batch this evening. I then had to message later in the evening that we would be delayed. This was no problem again and Carly came out and delivered later than expected that night with a warm smile and a congratulations. Fantastic service. Went well above. The food was also great, it’s the first time we have ordered food from here and it certainly won’t be the last. Full of flavour and piping hot on delivery. The biggest chicken balls I’ve had! ;) (see photo). Next time I’ll dig deeper into the menu because there is a wealth of choice and I can see specials on there that I’ve had in China. Highly recommended”

“This is our local Chinese and never let's us down. Food is always cooked fresh to order. If you order directly on their website rather than through an app like “JustEat” you get a small discount. Due to food being cooked fresh, the wait-time can be a bit longer (especially on a Friday or Saturday) but I can assure you, it is worth it.”

“We ordered a banquet for 12 people from the shop for delivery. It arrived at the time booked, was piping hot and delicious. Every dish was a hit (we set it all up as a buffet) and there was plenty of food at good value prices. Would absolutely recommend you call and talk to the takeaway directly - they couldn’t be more helpful. Absolutely excellent service and will definitely use again.”

“Great find with a road running parallel with the High Street. We had a starter (that was a main) that we shared - tenderlion beef with steam rice. It was lovely with oriental spices. for main we had a noodle dish each. i had the staple dish - beef ho fun. very tasty, but not as crispyi would like (less wok hei). Partner had Singapore ho fun (which is normally vermincelli noodles, but they were kind enough to swap ingredients for her). very tasty, filled with shredded meats and whole prawns. would highly recommend.”

“I've ordered from here twice and both times I've been impressed with the food! It's not incredibly cheap but I'd say you get what you pay for with happy wok, and that is higher quality. Orders arrive quickly (placed through a third-party website) and the food is hot and tasty. Their portion sizes are also just right for sharing.”
