“Best Chinese I've had in Winchester hands down. The vegetable rice was absolutely amazing and it is one of the few restaurants where I have found honey duck! Quick delivery too!”
“I notice a lot of bad reviews for the Golden Oriental. I'm glad I never read them before I ordered as they might of deterred me. As it is, I've ordered twice from them recently and been extremely impressed on both occasions. The standard of the food and delivery times were spot on. I will most definitely continue to use them for my occasional Chinese takeaway treat!”
“Never had an issue, food is nice and arrives very fast, fresh and piping hot. Been ordering from them for years and will continue to do so”
“Really good Chinese food, if you like spicy it’s a must try restaurant. If you can’t eat spicy they can tailor it for you and it’s still delicious, so that’s why both my son and I love it so much! 正宗湘菜!我的至愛!!”
“Delicious food, speedy service and great quality. We hadn't ordered from this restaurant before, but the 15% off online orders offer enticed us, so having had a look at various restaurants we chose to order from China Wok. The selection of dishes available was impressive and the pricing for them was competitive. We found it was cheaper than nearby other Chinese Takeaways and the offer was highly tempting. We ordered a selection of dishes and our order came to approximately £20.00 which I was delighted with, and this included the delivery charge. What was even more amazing was that from ordering, to arrival of the order, we waited less than 30 minutes! Great service and very quick, the delivery driver was friendly and smiled too. I must also add that we ordered chips and they were very hot and fresh, the best I have ever had from a Chinese Takeaway. Also, the chow mein dishes we ordered were of good portion size and lovely flavour. Overall really impressed with this restaurant and I would recommend it to all. Friendly and fast service offering good value for money. As a customer for the first time, I can safely say I will order from you again.”
“Great food and very friendly service! I had the chicken rice stone bowl, which was absolutely delicious. It was served hot (and stayed hot in the stone bowl through the whole meal), with fresh vegetables, tender chicken and had just the right amount of sauce. My wife had the beef ramen soup which was equally tasty - I had to sample it several times! Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!”
“Our first time visiting fusion noodle. The restaurant was really neat, clean and welcoming. The menu had a lovely range of food. We chose noodle dishes with three other dishes that we shared. The food was delicious. Service was great and the food arrived hot and we didn’t wait long for it. The BBQ ribs blew all the ribs I’ve had before out of the water, seriously great. This is the meal I will remember for a long time, I can’t wait to go back.”
“We visited Lucky Lychee in Winchester on two consecutive weekends, travelling all the way from London—and it was absolutely worth it each time. The satay beef and chicken were true standouts. Juicy, tender, and marinated to perfection, each bite delivered layers of flavour that were both rich and deeply satisfying. The meat was cooked just right, striking a balance between succulence and char-grilled depth. The grilled aubergine, courgette & fresh broad bean Malay yellow curry was another highlight—comforting, aromatic, and full of warm, layered spices. The vegetables were beautifully grilled, adding a smoky depth that balanced the gentle heat and creaminess of the curry. It paired perfectly with rice and had that cozy, soul-satisfying quality that makes you want to go back for more. The watermelon & cucumber salad with crispy pork cracking was a refreshing counterpoint—light, crunchy, and perfectly balanced. The watermelon was incredibly sweet and juicy, cutting through the richness of the pork crackling with a clean, fresh burst of flavor. We also really enjoyed the char siu pork—beautifully roasted, with a sweet, savoury glaze and just the right amount of caramelisation. The texture was spot-on: tender, juicy, and packed with that classic smoky flavour. The beef rendang with red pickle was another standout dish. The rendang was rich and deeply spiced, with melt-in-the-mouth beef, and the accompanying red pickle added a bright, tangy contrast that cut through the richness perfectly. One dish that truly surprised us was the sesame prawn toast. Unlike the standard versions you find elsewhere, Lucky Lychee’s featured lemongrass, adding a zesty, refreshing twist. Light and crisp without a trace of oiliness, it was a clever, modern take on a classic starter. Even the desserts were a delight. We tried the banana spring rolls, which were golden and crispy on the outside, with warm, sweet banana on the inside—simple, comforting, and very well executed. The cheesecake with pandan was especially memorable: fragrant, creamy, and subtly tropical. It’s a rare find in the UK and a must-try if you're looking for something a bit different to end your meal. Lucky Lychee serves up food that’s fresh, thoughtful, and full of heart. Every dish feels crafted with care and intention. No wonder we made the trip two weekends in a row—it’s that good. Whether you're local or coming from London, this spot is well worth the journey. Highly recommended.”
“Very pleasantly surprised by this kebab. Staff was friendly, the place is pretty, and the food was amazing. Quite a few vegetarian options. I will definitely be back to get more comfort food!”
“Their speciality is that they make their own noodles (hand-pulled)! It gets crowded pretty much everyday but it is not too bad. The waiting time for food is very little and the food is delicious. They do not have a huge variety but the few dishes they have, they make them to a nice standard. They have pork, beef, chicken and vegetarian options! For around £10 you can have a healthy and very filling meal.”
“Had many deliveries from this Chinese and wont use any other delivery companies and use there own drivers they have regularly and not the uber, deliveroo or just eat half warm by the time its delivered but never had to complain as its here so hot I have time to put it on the plate and know I can eat it hot not warm like the rest of the delivery companies serving to too many people and thats why they have so many complaints about the food always being cold. Your never regret using this takeaway and if something is wrong they will put it right straight away and not just forget about you or your order.”
“What an experience in perfect dining. Great, no excellent food beautifully cooked and fantastic flavours. A blend of Chinese and Thai with a local twist, absolutely superb. Service impeccable so friendly and welcoming. Totally recommend this local restaurant to everyone. Completed our night.”
“We happened upon Jumbo House after leaving the nearby restaurant(poor service, minimum 1 hour wait for food, so left). Polite, friendly staff, order: 1x Sweet & Sour chicken (balls), 1x egg fried rice, 1x curry sauce, and 1x chips, which was reasonably priced. Food was excellent, perfect size portions for 2 people to share. If you spicy curry sauce, then this is the place to go. Highly recommend.”
“Such a wonderful experience dining at Asian Food Hall. We were wandering around town looking for somewhere to have a late lunch and all of the chain restaurants on the high street were rammed, so we decided to stray off the beaten track and check this place out. So glad we did! The staff were very friendly and the food and drinks were utterly exquisite. We had the squid and Vietnamese spring rolls to start, both delicious with fresh ingredients. The braised aubergine and tofu was phenomenal with an incredibly rich and mouthwatering sauce. The rare beef pho was similarly great with very tender beef, probably the best I’ve had outside of Vietnam. Couldn’t recommend this place more, we will definitely be coming back!”
“Amazing value. Casual Chinese cafe. Packing good heat in their dishes. Huge variety and also authentic dishes and taste. Wish we had one of these where I live! (3hrs away).”
“Fantastic food. Fast service. Polite staff. One of the best places I've eaten in a long time. If you haven't been here before, you're missing out.”

From ordering over the telephone right down to delivery very polite lovely people would give more then 5 stars if we could”
“A lovely little independent Chinese restaurant run by a husband and wife team. The food is cooked fresh and is carefully flavoured, not packed with salt and sugar like so many regular takeaways. We'll definitely be back here and will be recommending to all our friends!”
“I’m only halfway through my meal having stopped to just look at the menu and deciding to make an unplanned stop. The food is the most delicious sushi I’ve had in years. The salmon tartare gave me a mouth orgasm, the scallops were divine and I just added another hour to my parking so I can try as many things I can get in my tummy. This guy has nailed it. My only regret was waiting so long before I found my new food home.”
“They've been there 40+ years food was still as good”
“Just had an absolutely excellent Sunday Lunch today. Two of us are Gluten Free & two had the normal buffet & it was soooooo tasty & freshly cooked. Well done Fuchi you never fail with your delicious food. We will be booking for Sunday Lunch again in a week or two”
“We had very good experience having a meal with our staff and colleagues. The food was so testy, the service was perfect. Nora was really helpful and very polite. We will definitely come back here!”
“Good food, fair price and lovely staff. We've only done take aways so can't comment on the atmosphere but it seems other people enjoy it!”
“One of my trusty regular faves when it comes to Chinese takeaway. If I ask for spicy, you can guarantee it will be so. The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the chips on this one occasion but one side dish can't take away from the great service you get from this lovely takeaway. Pleasant seating, atmosphere with nice decor and staff. Highly recommend them to anyone”
“Fantastic as all ways .. super quick delivery. Fresh food .. you order with them directly so saves all them greedy food delivery companies … every thing is lovely. And lovely owners..”
“Absolutely brilliant place the service is fast and efficient. The food is amazing and it really feels like a traditional Chinese building. I highly recommend eating there.”
“Loved their food, especially their honey glazed roast pork and fried rice. Can taste the wok hei, which is a big thumbs up. I ordered a salted lemon 7up, and they really made their own salted lemon. Will definitely come back again.”
