Went last night for the first time in a while and discovered the place was under new ownership. It was as excellent as it always was, highly recommend this place for great Chinese food!
Visited while camping at the campsite very nearby. Glad to have found it, very clean, reasonably priced, good customer service and large portions of very tasty food. Would definitely visit again when we visit Ashurst.
We went in to order and was served by a really friendly guy so first impressions were good. Food was prepared in good time, was really hot and tasted lovely, all enjoyed at our campsite

We happened upon Jumbo House after leaving the nearby restaurant(poor service, minimum 1 hour wait for food, so left). Polite, friendly staff, order: 1x Sweet & Sour chicken (balls), 1x egg fried rice, 1x curry sauce, and 1x chips, which was reasonably priced. Food was excellent, perfect size portions for 2 people to share. If you spicy curry sauce, then this is the place to go. Highly recommend.
Best Chinese takeout in the New Forest Definitely worth a taste
I can’t recommend this Chinese Take Away Highly excellent tasty. Food reasonably priced great friendly owner. Best place in this parade of shops by a country by mile. Highly Recommended
Food was lovely although i couldnt get boiled rice just special fried.
We have used this takaway twice and both times they tried to overcharge us lucky for us that we check the prices before we order. The first time they gave us the wrong order, Lemon Chicken instead of Chicken with pineapple and the second time there was no sauce with the barbecue ribs and very little sauce with the chicken satay. Obvously this seems to be the area they are cutting down on to make more money after the covid lockdown. Not impressed and will not use them again.
We often eat Chinese food in London & Manchester, especially South Manchester, but although we’ve never written a review before, we have to go on record as saying that THIS WAS THE BEST CHINESE TAKEAWAY WE’VE EVER HAD. The chicken sweetcorn soup was superb. Not some reheated mush. 10 out of ten. Then the BBQ ribs. To die for! Each dish had its own unique taste. The only disappointment was the realisation that this food was miles away from home in a sleepy village. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
