“Wow. Thank you Happy Valley, we’ve just had an amazing meal. Every single dish was delicious and such generous portions. We’ve never had a bad dish but this was such a good one that I had to leave a review ❤️”
“I ordered a house special chow mein and BBQ salt chilli spare ribs. They were both really amazing and the portion sizes were great. The staff were friendly and the place very clean and tidy. The only draw back is a minimum £15 spend if paying by credit or debit card.”
“Just love the food from here above any others ive tried”
“Arriving very late at our hotel, we found no food available, we travelled into town and found this lovely restaurant. The lady who greeted us explained they were near to closing time too, but was more than happy to assure we had dinner. She seated us at a lovely table, talked about dishes and our food arrived super fast, piping hot and beautifully presented. It was incredibly delicious and I cannot thank her enough for being so welcoming and caring. If you visit the area, please go visit this wonderful restaurant.”

“I have been going here since it opened and this is definitely the best Chinese in England and I will keep on coming till The shops shut. The people who Work at the counter are really nice especially the young girl there she is allways polite and sometimes throws me Fortune cookies in. The food is amazing and fresh”
“It tastes amazing and the portion sizes are generous”
“Amazing fresh food and service, best hidden gem for vegans! Cannot recommend enough! Food is so good as is the lovely service. Maybe best to call and order in advance before collecting and you can get cash from the coop next door Lovely service and food every time!”
“Really attentive and kind waitress and chef. Came here with three generations of family, old and young, and the hot pot experience managed to captivate them all. At home we were more used to a shared pot so the individual pot was novel and fun. A really clean restaurant with many free sauce and condiments to choose from. The food selection on the conveyor belt and to order was fresh and varied. The meat arrived on plates as cargo on a train on the second level of the conveyor belt. Was a super fun and cute way of delivering food that delighted the whole family! Dessert fruit and ice cream was also a touch. Definitely recommend and will come back here next time I’m in the city! ✨”
“Good local Chinese, foods nice and appropriately priced, easy communication and can pay by card on the phone. Was meant to be around 45 min wait took an hour, food was still hot so no concerns.”
“Lovely Chinese food. We’ve been using it for a few years now and have never had a bad meal. One thing, please get a website as I’m not on Facebook. Hedge send Kebab near by has a very good system of ordering food online. Other than that keep up the good work!”
“We have had several takeaways from here over the last few years and it is always fantastic, friendly service and good food always tasty and hot. Even on Christmas eve they were super busy but not a fault staff still happy and helpful and friendly!”
“Best Chinese I’ve had in the whole of Winchester. Great sized portions and reasonably priced.”
“I hadn’t visited dim t in Winchester for years, but I decided it was time to rectify that, and I booked a table for a Saturday night meal with some friends. The restaurant was very busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. Once seated, we were given the fantastic menu, and I spent a long time trying to decide what to have! The bao buns I had to start were fantastic – light, fluffy, and packed full of fillings. For the main course, I opted for Nasi Goreng, which I’ve had before in Singapore. I have to admit, I actually preferred this one to the one I had on holiday! It was very well-flavored, generous with the fillings, and a very enjoyable dish. I still had a small amount of space to share a dessert – and their Peanut Sundae was calling to me. It was honestly fantastic; it’s everything you want in a dessert. I found the entire experience very enjoyable, with the food being fantastic and the service being friendly and attentive. I also found the value very good too – with drinks and three courses coming in very reasonably. I’ll certainly be back again soon, as it’s a great place for a delicious dinner that doesn’t break the bank!”
“My favourite Chinese food place. And staff always friendly. Highly recommend the BBQ sauce on chips and the giant pancake rolls”
“Great chips, crispy on outside, fluffy inside. Big portions, even a small portion.”
“Simply stunning food, atmosphere and customer service. The waitress knew exactly what to recommend after I suggested duck - I didn't want anything spicy so went for the black bean duck. It tasted so fresh, soft, healthy and varying bits of delicious duck fat chopped to perfection! Slightly salty but portions are also very generous so I'll be coming back for my duck fix instead of ordering the unhealthy duck wraps”
“Our go to Chinese shut down and we found the new lucky house. Food is lovely and generous with the portions so you definitely get your money's worth! Staff are friendly too and never had too long to wait for the food.”
“We usually order for pick up, the woman who gives us our order is always so friendly and double checks everything in our bag is correct. She is amazing! Food is always hot and delicious as well. Love this place!”
“Chinese takeaway open Mondays (but not Tuesday). Takeaway only. Really liked the food especially sweet and sour prawns and the prawn crackers. They don't deliver but there's parking in front of the shop and behind the one stop.”
“I've been a regular at Jade House for a while now, and it consistently delivers a solid Chinese takeaway experience. The menu is diverse, with all the classics, and they do a great job with their dishes. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are quite reasonable. The service is generally prompt, though there have been a couple of times when the wait was a bit longer than expected. Nevertheless, the quality of the food usually makes up for any delays. The staff is friendly and always ready to accommodate special requests. Overall, Jade House is a reliable choice for satisfying Chinese food cravings. It's not the most upscale place, but the comfort of good, consistent food keeps me coming back.”
“Shanghai Bay’s Cantonese dim sum is absolutely top-notch, offering an authentic taste of traditional Cantonese cuisine. My favorite dish is the Fresh King Prawn Cheung Fun (大鮮蝦腸粉)—the rice rolls are silky smooth yet delightfully chewy, and the prawns are impressively large, fresh, and flavorful, far superior to the usual frozen ones. Among other dim sum, I especially love the Prawn Dumplings (鮮蝦餃皇), which are made without fatty pork. The Minced Pork Dumplings with Prawn (鮮蝦蒸燒賣) and Beef Dumplings with Dried Bean Curd (山竹牛肉球) are also excellent. The Fried Dough Cheung Fun (炸兩), featuring crispy Chinese dough sticks wrapped in rice noodle rolls, is wonderfully crunchy, and the mini Glutinous Rice with Meat in Lotus Leaves (迷你珍珠雞) are perfectly portioned and well-seasoned. I would even say that the dim sum here is better than any Cantonese restaurant I’ve tried in London, considering both the quality and size of the dim sum. Everything is freshly steamed to order, arriving at the table piping hot, making it well worth recommending. As for Shanghai dim sum, such as the Shanghai Dumplings with Crab Meat (蟹粉小籠包) and Pan-Fried Pork & Vegetable Buns (香煎菜肉包), they are decent but not particularly outstanding compared to the Cantonese offerings.”
“Best baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce I’ve ever had in UK! The Hong Kong style milk tea is very authentic which cannot be missed. Definitely recommend if you want to try delicious and real Hong Kong style / Cantonese food! The staff is friendly and super helpful as well.”
“I've been going there for years it's the best Chinese takeaway in Southampton”
“The Nicest chinese I have ever had! All food was cooked to perfection and I had a massive order. Nothing was incorrect with my order and food was piping hot. My favourite Chinese by a mile thanks so much Top Chef!”
“Had my first takeaway from here, and it was so delicious . The garlic chilli chicken with the peshawari narn also with Raitha made a perfect meal I highly recommend it if you like a kick of heat with lots of flavours. My husband had the Dhansk also delicious. We shall definitely go again.”
“As a chinese visitor, the duck fired rice (133a) surprised me with a very high quality, the rice is well separated and not clumping, and the taste is well balanced. The meat on top of it is very tasty too. While the other dish (97) is ok, not the best not the worst, a very British style Chinese food.”
“My absolute favourite Chinese takeaway! Have been ordering from there pretty much my whole life! They put so much love into making these dishes so that we can get the full experience of joy!”
“I've been using this Chinese for the last 10 years & have never had a bad meal! Highly recommended. Especially the mussels if you love seafood, they're amazing!”
“My go-to for a Chinese takeaway, the staff are really helpful on the phone and just very friendly in general. The menu is extensive and has lots of options, of which anything I have ever tried has never failed to hit the mark. They also give us free spring rolls sometimes when we make a big order which is so nice of them. Portion sizes are good too, I usually end up with leftovers for the next day. Highly recommend the salt and chilli chips (isn't listed on the website but they'll make it if you ask them to). Eating from here always makes my day :)”
