Great Chinese restaurant, full of dim sum choice with fair price, service is good, highly recommend.

Shanghai Bay’s Cantonese dim sum is absolutely top-notch, offering an authentic taste of traditional Cantonese cuisine. My favorite dish is the Fresh King Prawn Cheung Fun (大鮮蝦腸粉)—the rice rolls are silky smooth yet delightfully chewy, and the prawns are impressively large, fresh, and flavorful, far superior to the usual frozen ones. Among other dim sum, I especially love the Prawn Dumplings (鮮蝦餃皇), which are made without fatty pork. The Minced Pork Dumplings with Prawn (鮮蝦蒸燒賣) and Beef Dumplings with Dried Bean Curd (山竹牛肉球) are also excellent. The Fried Dough Cheung Fun (炸兩), featuring crispy Chinese dough sticks wrapped in rice noodle rolls, is wonderfully crunchy, and the mini Glutinous Rice with Meat in Lotus Leaves (迷你珍珠雞) are perfectly portioned and well-seasoned. I would even say that the dim sum here is better than any Cantonese restaurant I’ve tried in London, considering both the quality and size of the dim sum. Everything is freshly steamed to order, arriving at the table piping hot, making it well worth recommending. As for Shanghai dim sum, such as the Shanghai Dumplings with Crab Meat (蟹粉小籠包) and Pan-Fried Pork & Vegetable Buns (香煎菜肉包), they are decent but not particularly outstanding compared to the Cantonese offerings.

Great dim sum lunch. Friendly service, nice decor. All the dim sum dishes were tasty and authentic. Portion size of the rice and noodle dishes were good. We had a very enjoyable lunch. Highly recommended.

Poor environment, regular food (a few of them authentic) with fair service(insufficient waiters) Not recommended for people who are looking forward to a decent experience of Dim Sum trial. The beef slices stir fry noodles is greasy but tasty! Overall it’s good but has much room to improve! We ordered: 8 dim sums, 1 steam rice, 1 stir fry noodles

A popular place to eat but a little hidden, you could easily walk past it. Just on the high street of Southampton, next to West Quay and other shops including Primark opposite. Always get great service here and delicious food. Variety of options to choose from a table with a turntable in the middle makes it easier for a large group.

Very authentic Hong Kong cuisine. I have no doubt highly recommended to everyone who would like to try something authentic without travelling all the way to Hong Kong. I ordered three dishes: 1. Fried fish fillet with tofu served with rice and vegetables. This is one of my favourite dish since my childhood. Not a lot of restaurants serve this dish these days. 2. Yangzhou fried rice or special fried rice. This has been beautifully cooked as the key of this dish is each rice is dried in a way that won’t stick together. They use a little bit too much dark sauce, no so much of an issue. 3. Sweet and sour spare ribs. I like the balance between the sweetness and sourness of the sauce. The pineapple added an additional fruity flavour to the sauce. Ribs are cut into the smaller pieces which makes it easier to eat. All dishes above was cooked with high heat which gives a lot of wok hai to the dish. Portion is very generous. The only downside is it comes with a slightly higher price tag. In average about £14 per dish.

Busy Chinese restaurant middle of the city centre. They are famous for Dim Sum but we didn’t try it. We ordered beef dishes and noodle dishes. Food taste good but little bit oily for us. The only problem that made me to give them 3 star was staff behaviour. The way they treat us was not very friendly. Portion size was okay.

A very good Chinese restaurant with Hong Kong style. I miss the food very much. Before I get on a cruise I ate it three times and ate it after the cruise is ended. The dim sum are also very Hong Kong style which is also very good. If anyone miss to go for dim sum when you travel, I highly recommended this restaurant.

Atrocious service. Have been here many times as it is one of the only places serving dim sum in the area, however each visit gets worse and worse. Food is going downhill, you can taste the incredible amount of MSG used, and quality of ingredients has also declined dramatically. They also need to learn a thing or two about manners, waiters prancing about the place jumping from table to table saying they have nothing to do when our order took over an hour and a half because they apparently lost it. No real apology, a promised discount didn't materialise on our bill and just terrible attitude and service overall. Don't waste your time. 0 stars if possible, absolutely avoid this place like the plague. Absolutely atrocious.
