Friday afternoon treat. Myself and my wife, I had the cowboyburger and wife had the cottage pie. Both were tasty, well presented. Served by Amy. A very pleasant couple of hours overlooking the river and watching the world go by.
Table we were shown to was broken so had to ask to be reseated somewhere else. Was shown to a different table where the seat was broken, so I had to go looking for one that wasn’t. Food was below average, reheated fare. A third of the deserts weren’t available and what did turn up was grossly overpriced for both quality and quantity, and served on dirty sticky thumb print plates. As we were leaving a couple arrived having previously booked a table and were told that they had stopped serving food!
Totally brilliant Sunday evening, than you! We had prawns and soup to start followed by steak and haddock & chips. Sounds basic but actually you couldn't wish for a more perfectly cooked evening meal with excellent attentive service.
Nice hotel. Room on the warm side.Breakfast good. Drinks reasonably priced. We actually spent our wedding night there 37 yrs ago before it became a premier inn so it was nice to return. Lovely view of the River Wensum from our room and dining Room
Had lunch with a great view.. food was fast, hot and tasty. Hats off to the manager Kay who served us, she made sure we didn't go without anything and checked back regularly. Great service!
Went for work Christmas lunch and the food quality has gone downhill, 16 of us and another party of 16 and only two staff on, we were seated at 12.30 and by 3pm we had only just had the second course! The other table fared better and all their courses came out but we were left waiting for dessert for over half an hour and in the end we cancelled them and went to spoons for dessert and another drink. Felt sorry for the staff as they were busy serving other customers as well as our table and just couldn't keep up with the flow. Won't be booking here again as the turkey was processed slices, with frozen roasts and stuffing.i ordered prawn cocktail and the sauce was at the bottom of the dish under the lettuce, very watery. And I have never seen a beef Wellington with the beef cut up and served on top of pastry that was paler than my hands !
It's a chain pub on a Premier Inn in the middle of Norwich. It's not really made to be a magnificent eatery or hugely atmospheric boozer. It's perfectly okay but just a bit soulless. Staff are very pleasant & friendly but it is what it is
Food isn't very good and taste like a lot of it was frozen and re heated. My partner had a lasagne and was like eating a rubber, she asked for another and they brought it out and in the middle was cold and again was like rubber. Once we complained the staff where very unfriendly after and we ended up leaving.
One of the poorest dining experiences ever. Staff were still clearing up breakfast when we arrived for lunch. They seemed rather lost and confused throughout service. This wasn’t helped by the menus being out dated with wrong prices for drink and a menu that stated there was a carvery when there wasn’t. Waitress did not seem to understand some basic questions like what does this come with. I ordered a salad as I was tempted by the croutons and avacado. Neither of these were in my salad, issues with this was not before ordering and not even explained on delivery. I had to wonder around the restaurant searching for staff. The icing on the cake for me was that the salad advertised as combo with carrot shavings was actually - carrot peelings!!! Dirty rank tasting peelings making the meal barely edible. I asked the waitress if this was hit so and she said yes as if it was perfectly acceptable. No response whatsoever to a complaint. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
