Even though its always very busy, including birthday parties, the food quality is perfect and so is the service. The drink service is very efficient too. Even if you want a drink/cocktail not on the menu they still do it for you.”

We had the three course set date night menu and quite a number of cocktails as it was our wedding anniversary! Food was outstanding, cocktails were amazing and generous with alcohol and our server Emily R was an absolute angel - attentive without being obtrusive; the perfect waitress!! We were quite indecisive and Emily was so patient with us. We had to take dessert home with us as we were so full!!”

“I doubted family run Traditional Italian Restaurants after experiencing so so quality food and samey options delivered by overly passionate staff. Portobello Restaurant has put my faith back in the Italian culinary experience. On entering I was met by grounded, accommodating staff that ensured I was happy with the choice of table. Staff were smiley, chatty and assisted joyfully with the menu options. I opted for some nibbles and their excellently priced 2 courses for £19.95. The atmosphere in Portobello Restaurant is relaxed, sociable and family oriented. The minimalist artistic interior beams with natural light. Dishes were superbly presented, quality was evidently high. The jelly babies and hand written “thank you” on the bill echoed the care they provide to their customers. A wonderful experience.”

“Visited at the weekend during a busy period. We've eaten here many times before and its always been lovely, so the visit was disappointing. My daughter and I both ordered well-done sirloin steak, but both were extremely tough, chewy, and hard to cut, making them unenjoyable. The dish was also missing the tomato garnish. While the waitress was polite, the explanation given didn't really address the issue. However, the manager was amazing - very understanding and professional. Service overall was good, and the deserts were absolutely first class. We hope this was just a one-off, as previous visits have been excellent.”

“We have recently tried the Sunday carry-away from Christopher Tamworth, and they are an absolute delight! The food is worth every penny, and the taste was amazing. The gravy was so good that you could practically drink it straight from the pot. And I can’t forget to mention that their sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve ever had. The quality and flavours exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend giving their Sunday dinners and puddings a try; you won’t be disappointed!”

We had a table upstairs in a room really tastefully decorated, although a little cold initially. The food was wonderful. We had salmon terrine and a mushroom starter, sirloin and ribeye steaks.. absolutely lovely.. perfectly cooked and tasty... And all served by a really lovely waitress. Thanks for a lovely evening”
