“Staple Hill's best kept secret. No pretentious frills, just great tasting food in a chilled friendly space. All the tapas we tried were incredibly tasty, served fresh and hot. The cod and asparagus was sublime, just cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and attentive, definitely has a family run feel. Highly recommended.”

“Yesterday I went for lunch with my family to Bouvardia Restaurant for Sunday dinner. The decor was beautiful, it felt very peaceful there. The waiters were very polite and friendly and gave us recommendations. We were delighted the quality of the food (was told they use local produce and the menu that changes with the seasons) - my son said the beef ravioli was so good that he wants to come and have it everyday! The chicken was one of the most tender and tastiest I have had in a very long time Half way through our meal we were already saying we need to come back for dinner to try the regular menu! Quite surprised most people we told about have not heard about it, a true hidden gem in Bath!”

“Well, what a restaurant. I would implore you to visit. The food is fabulous. More importantly the service is wonderful. We came for lunch and spent nearly 2 hours talking to the owners and staff ans more importantly tasting lovely food. At £35 for 3 courses, an absolute steal.”

“Easy to miss from the outside, and not much to see on the inside, the whole focus of Casa is on food and service. And both are fantastic, I must say. We went for the 65GBP menu, and by then end of it where neither hungry nor disappointed. Expect plenty of food, and the dish quality was fantastic all through the meal. My favourite was probably the lion mane mushroom in panko and the sirloin, but honestly, there weren't any weak dishes.”

“Amazing food! I had the scallops, then duck, and then the chocolate ganache to finish - all dishes were very delicious and cooked well. The cheese board also has a great selection of cheeses, and they give you a mountain of crackers. The staff were also lovely and attentive. “Visited for the first time as was recommended by family and it was amazing The starters were great value with plenty of choice. Silly me forgot to take a picture of them before stuffing as smelt and looked so good. Main courses came out and were so big value for money great flavours in the lasagne the seafood lingie what can I say the flavours were out of this world very big prawns. “We took my parents to the Elder for a very belated Christmas present and it was a fantastic evening in so many ways: some of the best food we’ve ever had combined with very attentive but relaxed service with a smile. “We had the 7 course tasting menu, I had the farm & sea then my partner had the land option which we shared the lot. Thank God we did as it would have been an incredible shame to miss out on some of the dishes! Every single bite was truly incredible, so many levels of flavour and such perfect combinations, truly hats off to the chef. The wine pairing was such a highlight as well, some very unique wines that fitted perfectly with the dishes but were also devine on their own. The service completed the evening, it was so attentive but not at all in your face, they were both very knowledgeable on the dishes and the wines. They also added a really homely, welcoming vibe which was so refreshing. Far too many places doing this level of food have a element of snobbery which can be off putting but not these two, they made us feel so welcomed and created such a warm environ. Without a doubt would visit again and will be recommending to anyone and everyone!”

“Lovely Afternoon Tea Experience in the Heart of Bath We visited this location for Afternoon Tea and had a really beautiful experience. We arrived around 2:30 PM and were lucky to catch a live piano concert, which added an elegant touch to the atmosphere. The standard Afternoon Tea menu was around £100 for two people, which felt fair considering the amount of food included. There is plenty to eat — definitely more sweet than savoury — but everything was fresh and nicely presented. The service was very kind and attentive, and the interior is absolutely charming. One of the highlights is the back rooms, where the walls display the history of the place and its connection to the Roman Baths. It’s actually linked to the Pump Room, and if you choose to visit the Pump Room and then the Roman Baths afterwards, you can skip the main queue, which is a great bonus. Overall, if you’re visiting Bath and want a traditional Afternoon Tea in a beautiful and historic setting, I definitely recommend this place.”

“I recently dined at The Rose Tree in Bourton-on-the-Water, and it was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The squid starter was simply outstanding—beautifully presented, perfectly balanced flavors, and every element worked together harmoniously. For my main, I had the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection and completely boneless—a real treat. The portion sizes were generous, and even the garlic bread was incredible. The rest of my table enjoyed lamb shank, chicken, and pork, and every single person agreed it was one of the best meals they’d had. The desserts were equally impressive, rounding off the meal perfectly. The service was amazing, with friendly and welcoming staff who created a relaxed and private atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being small, it never felt cramped, and the staff’s knowledge of the menu and proactive approach to service was fantastic. I honestly couldn’t recommend The Rose Tree enough. Make sure to book in advance, as the restaurant is small, but trust me, it’s well worth it. An absolute gem!”

“Our daughter bought us dinner here…the food was frankly amazing and the bar equally as good. Personally I loved the decor too! We ate the fixed Menu although there are three choices to each course. Three courses and a cocktail for £30 per head - I mean amazing value. Service was great too - so much so we went back for brunch!”

Everything was delicious from the mushroom mouse before the meal to the mains with unique flavor pairings to the tonka bean parfait for dessert. My venison was cooked to perfection. “OMG. The best meal and the best experience ever for an amazing meal. The chef, Gordon Jones, is open, fun and super talented. The courses are ever changing and a surprise when you show up. Only after the meal is complete so you get a copy of the menu. It’s expensive but worth it.”
